2020 Rearview mirror

Hello Everyone,
I have a 2020 TRD OR with Toyota Safety Sense. I want to replace my stock factory auto dimming rearview with this one:

NEW! Gentex Mirror Compass Homelink(R)V4 Plug&Play For 2020-2021 Toyota 4Runner | eBay

My question, does anyone know if any of the TSS stuff is integrated into the mirror? I'm upgrading because I want homelink, I never though to check if it was in the truck before buying it. And hey the built in compass is a plus too.
Thanks
Jay

Hmmm -- my 2018 SR5 has three garage door opener switches (Homelink) in the overhead console, not on the mirror. Are you sure you do not have that in your overhead console?

Also, Toyota uses Gentex mirrors as OEM in most of their cars and trucks.

Youre shittin me? You dont have homelink anywhere? near the map lights? I'm assuming TRD OR doesnt have a sunroof but you should have a buttload of switches right? How about a homelink system integrated into the sun visor. I've seen those in the past. Swapping out a rear view mirror would be a complete waste and expensive. I'm sure there are tons of other homelink options now. Possibly even a button that can fill in an empty plastic slot on the dash.

According to the 2021 4Runner brochure (https://www.toyota.com/content/ebroc..._ebrochure.pdf), the SR5, and TRD OR do NOT have home link. All other trims (SR5 Premium, TRD OR Premium, Venture, Limited, and TRD Pro have homelink.

I have the exact same vehicle. 2020 TRD ORP and I have 3 homelink buttons. The only problem is that they are for some reason impossible to program. I tried for weeks in every way I could think and it would never work.

Edit: Sorry didn't see that you didn't have the Premium.

If you have a rolling code system which most if not all are now, you have the program the homelink to the opener.

Instead of changing the mirror for homelink, have you considering adding a wifi garage door opener or Wifi Door opener module that is compatible with Alexa? Your 2020 should have Alexa, then you could voice activate the opening/closing of the garage or create an IFTTT command.

If you have problems programming Homelink, go to the Homelink web site. The vehicle owners manuals only cover recent garage door openers, but on the Homelink web site, you can find instructions for legacy (older) door openers.

Consider a frameless mirror, they look so much "cleaner"

Why not the "old fashioned" visor clip on remote? You can buy them anywhere garage door openers are sold. I have them in my older cars built before Homelink was in cars.
