Tire rotation question..
I have my 5k mile service scheduled and for tire rotation, is it crossed i.e. front right tire goes to rear left and vice versa or is it recommended to move the rear tires to it's corresponding front tire and then cross the front tires only when moved to the rear?

I don't ever cross them. Back to front, then front to back. That may be an outdated paradigm.

I no longer cross mine either. When rotating my tires, I always make sure the better tires are on the rear of the vehicle. It is usually the rear end of the car that will kick loose resulting in loss of control.

When rotating tires I have always moved the rear straight to the front, and the front crossed to the back. That way each tire gets to ride in each position before returning to its original location after 4 rotations. You will get a million different ideas on this, but I have personally always done as I mentioned.

My local tire shop does free rotations (included with road hazard), and they just "X" cross them... so LF and RR go back and forth, and RF and LR go back and forth. I'm approaching 60K with my Cooper A/TW's... which had a 50K treadwear warranty. I'm just now starting to get some minor irregular wear on the tires, and I still have 6/32's left on all of them. The tires have only required one minor re-balance along the way. No issues with steering wheel shimmy either.
Not bad, all things considered.
Anyway, you're likely to get lots of opinions... Mine, FWIW... I think it's more important that you do the rotations at all, and somewhat less important on which pattern you settle on. Good luck. YMMV.

Owner's manual says to just swap front/back, no cross, so that's what I do. It also says if you have a matching spare to just rotate it through on the right side (Spare>right rear>right front>spare).
I don't think there's going to be any issue if you choose to do a rearward cross or whatever strikes your fancy.

I've always done the "rearward cross" pattern on my 4x4 vehicles. Fronts go straight to the rears, rears go to the opposite side fronts.

I thought I would just get another set of my tires after this set, but I think I might go back to AT3Ws instead of MT01s. That being said, since I have a brand new stock MT01, is it okay to start rotating it into my rotations after 16,000 miles?

That’s actually condsidered the “Forward Cross”.
“Rearward Cross” is rear tires move straight up to the front, while the front tires move to the opposite rear positions.

Although I don’t see why it makes a difference. What’s more important is that you or the tire shop keep up with the same routine.

Just picked up a '19 with a an XP package (off-road wheels and tires) and noticed they swapped the four off-road wheels in and did not give me a spare off-road tire (i.e it is still the original factory tire). Just noticed this when I read this thread. Not sure what the SOP is.
Anyway, will probably just rotate straight front to back since i do this myself and will be easier.

years ago when I was still doing tires, for vehicles that had the front tires very unevenly worn, I would cross them to the back, and bring the rears straight forward. this will help smooth them out. typically happens on 4wd vehicles. usually the more aggressive the tires, the worse this is. its often cause from not rotating often/soon enough. if they are still wearing nice and flat, you can rotate straight forward/back without concern.

If your spare has a steel rim - it won't have a TPMS sensor; nor will it match the other wheels. So, rotating it through doesn't work too well.
