AC dash vent temp imbalance

2010 SR5, drivers dash vents blow warm, passenger vents blow much colder with AC on. Even the center vent, left side is warmer than the right. Anyone ever experience this? Possible solutions?

Non-digital dash but it acts like I have separate driver/passenger controls.

I think your ac system needs a charge. The exact thing used to happen with my '03. I didn't believe the mechanic who initially told me that, but it worked. Eventually I started doing the recharges myself. It would last about 4 or 5 months and then I'd hit it again. Apparently had a pinhole leak somewhere in the system, then after about 2 years, the system went blooie and was going to require pulling out the dash and cost $3500 to fix. At 237,000 miles I figured the economics weren't there for that outlay and traded on a 2010 which I now have 218,000 miles on. And which the ac is running flawlessly.

I'll bet the above post about charge level is most likely.

If you had the airbag recall done recently, maybe the vents were not lined up correctly when it was put back together.

My recall work was sloppy. Knee bag cover not on correctly, small line in the dash where the airbag is and the rear window switch in the console was disconnected. -- Maybe the oil change guy was promoted before he was ready.

Interesting, yes my system was recharged about 2 years ago and dye was added to see where it might be leaking. Haven't gone back to follow-up, simple enough to check. And yes, I had the air bag recall, hopefully that's not the problem. I'll report back, thanks for your input.

Update - low refrigerant was the issue. Can't find the leak though. Blowing cold from all vents, added more dye.
