AWESOME. Thanks! Is it blocking a lot of the air flow from that vent? Once you have that initial mount on, you can put any holder onto it, correct?

It would have if I put it on the left side. I wanted to still get air flow to the driver, so I moved it to the right on the vent and it worked out well. Air still goes around it though.
Yes, any holder will work that works with the Proclip and that Ball.

RAM mount with adhesive base. Trimmed to fit the taper of the panel. Used this same setup in my 4th gen. Works well and that pad is stuck solid. I like my phone mounted here for easy use and no cables hanging while charging. I don't like drilling holes in my vehicles and avoid it when possible. Phone was definitely not worth a permanent hole.
Note: I angled it in such a way that it does not block my HVAC controls and I can still use that cup holder but usually don't.

Same here, held the phone very well off roading even in rock climbing conditions.

Mine is a ram ball mount, short ram arm with a ram->17mm adapter then a Qi wireless charger. It has a light sensor that clamps down on the phone when put in the cradle, small spot on the back opens the cradle when tapped. It even has an onboard battery so it can be opened and closed with the car off. Love this set up.
Not a perfect photo, but you can see it here.

Good stuff, thank you. That mount looks perfect. Looks sturdy, unlike a lot of (if not most) other vent mounts. How did you fasten the ball mount to the proclip?

Almost as helpful as a Google search, just not so instantly gratifying.

I didn't Google a thing pops, just read the countless threads on the subject in the past. Thanks for the kid reference, it's been awhile. Hey keep this up and you will be in the classified section in no time.

Ha then you should google before running your mouth about me googling, genius. I googled and searched the forum. My fears of not being part of that section are making me tremble. You're really a great part of this forum. I feel for your folks.
As far as your links go, again I searched the forum. Where is the mention of your rail mount in your links? As far as your awesome attitude, asking questions in a forum in a like minded thread isn't an issue. Being a snotty little kid thinking he knows something when he didn't take his own advice, thats the problem. You're a great contribution here.
