True. I doubt ANY millenial knows what the Dewey decimal system is. They ONLY know what their class B electronics tell them.

I originally used a cheap $7 one from Amazon that was great, magnet power and size wise! Except it wasn't long enough for me to be able to touch the screen with my hand still on the wheel.

So I spent a lot more money and went with a 67 Designs one. Diamond Plate base, Mini Arm, and a G2 Magnetic pad. The Mini Arm was tool long so I ordered a Nano. Perfect... Until I started driving and my iPhone7 would just slide off.
G2 Magnet:

The magnet isn't near strong enough.

So unfortunately I had to reorder, again, a G3 magnetic pad. This finally worked and is a nice looking set-up, IMO.
G3 Magnet:

If buying something for your phone or MAYBE a mini iPad, do not consider the G2. I honestly don't know what it could hold unless rotated near flat, maybe.

Since i have always integrated my smartphone into my vehicles for music, navigation and communication with my countermeasures like a radar detector and laser shifters i needed the ideal spot to see it at all times.

So i went with the iOttie smartphone wireless charger with adjustable arm. I found that having the phone on the same plain as my dash cluster and windshield makes it easy to see out of the corner of my eye and easy to reach.

I have been using this method for about 8 years now.

For my GMRS radio i simply used my sons erector set parts to make a mount that simply uses double sided tape for the mic.

There website is so confusing. Do you have a link to the diamond plate and does it require drilling?

I am using the Rago dash mount with a RAM mount to this guy

I needed to use this adapter

The mount is motorized and clamps down on the phone when inserted and wirelessly charges.

Here is a pic with a different phone mount I had attached to a piece of plastic I stuck in above my T9 radio. I changed up due to this one not fast charging when I added the Rago mount.

I assume this was to me. If so, here's the link to the one I bought:
Diamond Plate Alternative — 67 Designs

And yes, I pulled off the silver center part of the dash, just a couple inches without removing wiring, and drilled two small holes. The harder part was putting on the nuts for the bolts inside as there isn't much room. Just don't drill too far. Sensitive stuff back there.

I ordered one and was planning on getting a RAM mount to attach to it because i dont wanna drill anything in my dash. But i didnt realize until buying it that it was only compatible on the passenger vent side of the center hub.

I asked and they were like nah we havent gotten much request for those yet. we might make them.

Does anyone have experience with them and specifically if this mount works well?
Curious if anyone else has tried this? I've had panavise mounts in the past in different vehicles and they've worked well. I'm not thrilled about the idea of drilling visible holes in my brand new 4Runner, if this works well it could be an option for me.
