Our truck keeps finding little trails for us. :)

After picking up a 2019 TRD maybe 2 months ago we have driven several trails that we used to cruise right by, all the time, in our car. No, these aren't fancy trails, but they get you away from others, definitely off road and some barely considered a trail at all giving us city folk (OKC, OK) a little challenge, haha.. It's almost like the 4Runner finds them for us and we just, turn.. I have literally gone from, "I wonder where that trail goes." to "Let's see where that trail goes.".

Love this truck!

We had a Forester before this and while it was fairly capable it wasn't cutting it. My boss has a fully modded Taco and he recommended we upgrade to the 4runner for the types of places we were going. Now with the truck the family asks why are we going down this road, my answer is because we can. We have come across some great places in our exploring. Got it set up with enough gear, food and water when we travel that we can just go with the flow. It is a big part of our family life now, not just for our trips but using a sleeping platform in the back at swim meets and the roof rack for gear and hanging out on to name a few.
Sucks we didn't figure this out years earlier, making up for lost time though!

We’ve done over 65,000 miles of road trips through 45 US states and four Canadian provinces over the last five years. We had a blast, but unfortunately most of those miles were in a 2wd Honda Pilot or Tundra.

Three months ago we purchased a new 2019 T4R TRD Off Road. After spending almost every weekend since then off road, it kills me to think about all the trails in amazing places that we abandoned due to the fear of getting stuck.

With the T4R, we started out on simple forestry roads doing some light exploring. Now we’re pushing through tight vegetation on narrow Jeep trails that result in “pinstripes” and mud on the roof. Can’t wait to do another major road trip out west or up to Canada.

Be careful or you’ll end up with knobby AT tires, aftermarket skid plates, rock sliders, hidden winch under a winch bumper and an aftermarket lift kit before you know it. I’m almost all the way there!
