Third row seats

I put in storage (drawers) instead of the third row seats in my 2017 limited.

I was thinking of selling the third row that I pulled out but not sure what their worth.

I also don't know if I should hold onto them for possible future reselling of the vehicle in the unknown future. Even though I plan on driving it into the ground.

What value do you attach to the third row?

I would browse the classifieds for value but I think they are worth a decent amount since they are only offered on SR5 models. My buddy installed them in his TRD pro but not sure how much he paid.

I looked into this years ago.

My understanding is the third row seat install requires much more than *just* the seats. Belts are obviously also important - but rear panels are required for the swap along with a host of brackets.

That said - list them up. I’m sure someone will be interested.

Correct, you need to swap out the panels and also drill and tap bolt holes for the seatbelts.

Have to ask because your name is very familiar. Were you on Acurazine? I’m pimpin-tl that was over there for years. Just curious.

It's actually more than that and less than that. I'm in the middle of a full 2/3 conversion and to do it correctly it's way more involved than that.

The side panels aren't compatible from two row cars to 3 row cars due to the different way the seat backs attach/don't attach. There's brackets welded to the inner fender panel in the 2 row cars that the 3 row cars don't have. The rear seatbacks in the 2 row cars attach to a sliding bracket of the side that the 3 row cars don't have. The panels don't swap without swapping the second row seats.

If you're just adding the third row, it's a bit easier. There's 4 threaded M10 nuts welded to all the cars that the 3rd row seats attach to, but the 2 row cars don't have them opened, so you have to carefully drill them out. There's also 3 M10 seatbelt attachment nuts for the 3rd row that have to be added to the 2 row cars, as well as two M10 threaded upper attachment points in the D pillars. You also have to switch the plastic upper panel for the seat belt exit. Plus there's some carpet and trim pieces that have to be swapped as well as a fairly large steel cross bracket.

I should be done with mine in a week or so and I'll post the full list of parts and modifications with A LOT of pics then.

Oh yeah, the main carpet is different too, lol.

Josh
