Yeah had exhaust and intake. I started with the exhaust and added intake later. I love the sound, some with claim BS on performance. me? Cant say one way the other of gains but Toyota(trd) claims HP gains. Best performance I got is sprint booster, no HP but sure as hell rids any throttle delay and yeah, people that say they can push the pedal just as fast, have zero clue.

Ugh, now idk about what to get! Just ordered a TRD CAI. Been looking at exhausts for Black Friday deals. Liked the Gibson sound when watching a couple YouTube vids but concerned over the reports of it not lasting. I definitely don't mind an aggressive sound.

Have put some miles on. Still loud, maybe a touch more mild. Wife has not asked about it ever, so that's good. With the trd intake and exhaust I do think it has more pull. But I'm driving it harder and so my mpg has gone down. So far happy with it.

I have had my Trd exhaust on for about a month and am very happy with it, at ideal to 2000 Rpm or cruising speed its not loud at all on or off the Hwy ,but above 2500 Rpm when you step on the gas pedal you will hear it but it is not bothersome or annoying will try to upload sound clips if i can i do not have Trd intake

Does anyone have this installed plus a aftermarket rear bumper? I'm curious to know how low the TRD exhaust sits with a high clearance rear bumper (any pictures with both installed would be greatly appreciated).
I'm hoping the TRD exhaust doesn't hang too low, since I have a high clearance C4 bumper...any suggestions on this/might take it to a shop to see what they can suggest.
I ordered both the TRD CAI and the TRD exhaust yesterday for Black Friday sales.

There will be a huge gap but should be an easy fix to the rear hanger to get it as close as you want.

Here is the comparison between TRD vs non TRD. As far as sound goes, the TRD is obviously a lot louder. In fact while driving through the mountains of Tennessee last week I found it a bit annoying. Since getting back to the panhandle of Florida I haven’t experienced any of the gear hunting, so I find it nice sounding. This is total subjective and it fits my needs where I live. If we move to a more mountainous area, then I will just have a resonator put in or a larger muffler.
Thanks for the trade btw!
Hope your “submarine” is doing well ;)

Thanks for the tip - wasn't familiar with how it would work.

Not sure if this was posted somewhere, but thought these sound clips of the 4Runner TRD exhaust sound pretty accurate to what it sounds like in person, especially his 2nd clip from outside.

I’m pondering chucking the ‘pro’ exhaust too. I find the drone going up even a shallow grade is obnoxious. Around city it’s fine though.
Is there an easy way to just switch the muffler and cut the 3 prong flange and weld on a 2 piece to keep the tailpipe? Thinking of an incremental banishment rather than full catback swap to keep the cool tip... has anyone done anything other than just swap with another member?

I think I know the answer already but will this fit a ‘14?
I had the Magnaflow for a few years and the drone and sound at higher rpms finally got to me so I switched to the Gibson. While sound is spot on, the quality and fitment is lackluster. I had the TRD on my FJ so if that is any indication of what this one sounds like then I’m in.

I don't really need the instructions but would be curious to see what the torque specs are. I saw Toyota stated 48 N-m (35 lb-ft) for the Taco unit, then I saw the youtube from SnailTrail4x4's Borla install, he used 20 lb-ft.
Haven't a chance to unpack but I suspect the donut gasket is not included. I suppose the existing one can be reused as ForRun indicated. Besides, TRD site shows two separate parts - PTR03-18131-AA & PTR03-89200-AA. The first one appears to fit the FRS as well while the latter is no where to be found. I just don't want to have everything apart only to find out I lack a lousy $10 part.
For those who had done the install, what is the consensus on the torque and gasket?

I think the 40% off sale was a one time deal for the 40th anniversary of TRD. I hope they have another one but I doubt it
