Pin Stripe Preventing Magnets

I remember someone posted on here they were taking a 5th Gen 4Runner down to Castle Rock?, CO to get measured so that a company there could make the magnets to put on the side of the vehicle to prevent pin stripes. Can't find the topic. Was that ever done and are they now on sale?

The only thing I have heard of is G.O.A.T armor. 4runner armor coming out soon I believe. I wish they had plain colors, and I'd maybe be interested.

are they going to have any colors that don't make you look like a dick head? these look like a camo pack a 12yo would buy on Call of Duty.

The camo hides you from the trees, if they can't see you, they can't scratch you.

I'd be VERY careful that you have a clean vehicle to start. And that you don't get any dust under them. Pull the magnetic sign off the side of any work truck with one and look underneath. Usually the magnets do more damage to the paint than the trees would have. I like the idea and if you're very careful about installing them, I think they probably work well.

I'd be more inclined to buy some really cheap clear vinyl wrap and make it a one-time use wrap.

Ronny Dahl has this on his Cruiser.

Rhinohide | 4x4 Paintwork Protection | Rhinohide Home

Seems to be only available in Australia for now but they say they are going global.

Neat concept.

I think the Rhinohide is a cool product, but at the cost you might as well just go ahead and vinyl wrap

I think one advantage over a wrap is protection from not just scratches but dents. You can also remove it when not in use and would guess it would last for the life of the car.

Thought wraps were way more expensive, no?

From what I have read here and done myself:

It depends who does the wrap. One guy here had a "full" wrap done, pulled panels, tucked edges and all, I remember him saying it cost him in the neighborhood of $4-5k.

If someone just did it to the edges without removing panels I'd guesstimate rounds of $2k +- a couple hundred.

Anyway, its nice not to have scratches, BUT it is less discomforting when you are doing the scratching as opposed to clueless acchats that park next to you.

I personally think rust is the bigger bastard on the block.

Goat - 20% off

If you know anything about GOAT Armor, they primarily focused on Tacoma's when they got started. But after this past summer, they started making kits for the 5th get 4Runners.

The normal kit runs $495 plus shipping, Goat is knocking about $100 off for the first 25 people who jump on the deal using promo code T4RGOAT20 at checkout. To get the full kit for $396 plus shipping, you need to be part of the first 25 who place an order using that promo code.

***As of today at 2pm PT, 8 slots orders were already placed meaning only 17 spots are left for the 20% off deal. ***

Once the 25 order mark is met with the code, Goat will run the orders, process them for production and the promo code expires. Credit cards will be charged once the 25 is met, but not before. If you’re using PayPal, they will charge your card immediately.

More details and a full review can be found here.
