Very nice indeed. Congratulations on your new Hiker! My wife and kids are into anime and all things Japanese, so I bet they would recognize the word.

I know it was a struggle, but at the end of it all, I hope you're happy with the outcome. Enjoy it!

You were very fortunate as the dealer worked with you through it all.

It was worth the way I'm sure, love your TRD PRO.

Enjoy!

@pumacat24 congratulations on the new ride! Hopefully it will have been worth the trouble and wait. Anxious to see how it works for you! Hopefully you didn’t have to chip in too much to upgrade to the pro.

I kinda bite my tongue when I travel >60 waiting for the shake rattle and roll! Most of my travels in this daily are <40.

Good luck with it!

Everything is perfect with this one, and the suspension is so nice compared to stock. It makes our crappy roads super smooth. Can't wait to take it on a trail though!

I've driven the same roads at the same speeds that my old one used to freak out on and nothing!

Thanks so much!

Those SC roads / highways are notorious! You're right though, the Pro suspension is amazing compared to stock... I've driven at decent speed (15-20 mph) over fairly bumpy trails and it's vastly superior to the previous 4Runners I've owned. And simple washboard dirt or gravel roads...? Like they're not even there...

Hard to explain, because the difference in languages. Technically it is a literal translation but not something used by Japanese people. What you are using is how a Japanese person would pronounce and use an English word, which often is the case and acceptable. However it is not the actual Japanese wording.

"Yama-noboru-hito" is more of what you're going for.

Thanks @pointman , every day is a good day when you learn something new! That's way more of an exciting translation... so are the characters "ハイカー" correct or is there a better version for that too?

BTW... I'm absolutely LOVING my new Pro. The suspension is so wonderful compared to stock. I've also gotten my full LED swap completed again and put my n-fabs back on until I can order some sliders later this year.

I'm going back and forth in deciding on the Llumar CTX or IRX ceramic window tinting. I could get CTX 35 or IRX 30 completed this week. I've read through the forum already, but I'd gladly take some other, new opinions too if anyone reads this.

Conversational Japanese is full of words and phrases borrowed from other languages, especially English. They use a special writing system (syllabary), called katakana, to write such words (of which the above is an example) to fit them into the Japanese syllable scheme. Sometimes the borrowed English words end up swamping original native Japanese words or phrases over time.

That is the katakana for the pronunciation of hiker. I don't have katakana on my laptop but if you want the full written version, no biggie.

Glad you're loving the new 4R. Pleasantly surprised it was completed so quickly. Enjoy.

Good to hear that you’re enjoying the Pro suspension.
How’s it handle on the road in curves as compared to the ORP with KDSS?

So I’ve never driven a KDSS model. Only X-reas which was also way better than stock, but that was also in my 4th gen.

It is way better than stock on turning and brake nose dive. That being said, I’d still be interested in getting heavier coils maybe.

I’d be really interested in driving one with KDSS or one with Kings/Icons/Bilsteins to tell a difference between them all.
