Quick, newbie question on Hi-jacks

Hey ya'll. So when i got my TRD offroad, it came with these side steps. I can't call them rock sliders, since they don't...slide, because of the step. Regardless, my truck's bumpers are stock which means there aren't any points to use the Hi-jack. So if anyone knows about these steps, are they strong enough to use as a jack point if the jack was placed right under the bar and not the step itself. I apologize for the possibly dumb question, thank you!

You need a solidly attached slider to the frame. What you have is a flimsy-ly attached nerf bar to the body.

I think Jeeps carry HiLifts 1/for the look and 2/some, because with two solid axles and very big tires things get ridiculous fast.

On the 4R, we should be able to get away with a quality bottle jack. Bottle jacks are extremely versatile and though heavy they are quite compact. I also have an air jack which I no longer carry except in deep sand or the like.

There are many reasons you may need to use a bottle jack and in sand also an air jack and/or boards. But HiLift need, such as high centering, should be foreseeable and thus avoidable in normal (not play) use, even on reasonably difficult terrain.

If you can use a HiLift on all four sides and tackle very difficult terrain then, yes, I can see the HiLift having its place.

Thanks y’all, I thought about the wheel mount but one little slip in the wheel and it could go wrong. Thanks for the advice about the bottle jack!

these work..I've got them in in my off road rig that has sliders on it..some times you're in a tricky spot where the angle will prevent you from getting a solid bite on the slider with the hi lift..

as far as using a hilift on what you have now, I'd recommend against it.
