Similar clunk feel (more than sound) on very small bumps only at very slow speed. Started after install of King coil overs and SPC upper control arms about a month ago. I’ve been hoping it would settle out. I’ve suspected its bolt on UCA, but haven’t yet tried tightening it.

glad yours was figured out. I went out to look at my same sway bar drop to check mine. Mine looks all ok, so I dont believe that is my issue on mine. Time to keep going at the drawing board.

I'm kind of shocked that the "nutsert"/inner-threading within the frame even has the ability to break free from the frame. I mean it holds the damn sway bar onto the vehicle... Smh

Now I'm going to be paranoid of it working itself loose again.

But now that people who read this knows that the bracket has the ability to be the cause of a clunk issue, hopefully it'll help out someone else out there.

@scarface - looks like you have spacers between your sway and frame. Wondering if that is recommended. I put on a level kit on the front to raise 2" and did not use a sway spacer. Wonder if I should add? I have KDSS - it was a serious pain reconnecting the sway on the front.

bump for future searchers (non-KDSS application)

Mine was also sway bar bushings. It sounded just like bad struts or worn end links. The bushings looked perfect and everything was tight. However, if you unhook one end link and give the bar a good push/pull, you can feel the bar moving back and forth. I think this is what caused my clunk. During removal, I noticed the inner face of the bushing was indented/crushed a slight amount. Just enough to cause a ~1/8" gap between the bushing and the axial stops on the sway bar. I flipped the bushings around 180 degrees. Flipping the bushing removed this gap and the clunk. This stuff isn't visible without skid plate removal.

Now just to find some darn bushings, which seem rarer that unicorn tears for some damn reason.

Ever figure out your issue? I too get a slight knock(feel) from driver side. I can manually turn my wheel left to right (the amount you get with truck off and ignition off) and hear/feel knocking noise. I can put my hand over the upper control arm and turn the wheel left to right and feel the knocking on control arm. I re torqued everything upper cross bolt and spherical bolt(total chaos uppers) and still get noise. Alignment shop did a "diagnostic" although I didn't ask for one and said it was my wheel bearing (they wanted $860 to replace a long with alignment), after alignment I went picked up a new wheel bearing and replaced it even though the stock one looked and seemed fine and still getting that slightly knock. I too recently installed king coilovers and upper Total chaos arms about a month ago. I'm stumped 🤔

Makes sure the LCA alignment bolts are torqued to spec. They might look tight, but i've had this cause issues before of the alignment tech didn't do it. The spec is pretty tight.

I ended up figuring out my issue. It was the spherical bearing on total chaos upper control arm. Only had about 4k miles on them since new. I removed it and everything looked good minus a small strand of the Teflon peeling out. But it still seemed firm and stuff. As soon as I installed new bearing, noise went completely away. Fast forward 700miles and noise is back. I mentioned this to Total chaos and he told me that it's normal, that I have to put about 5,000 mi on them to break them in which seems kind of odd. I removed it and it looks good as new, no slop or play. So I'm just going to rock with it for now and see if it goes away but seems like it's part of the cons when running aftermarket parts 😆
