2015 Trail cranks but will not start
My 2015 Trail will crank but will not start. It has 3/4 tank of gas and the battery is good. I've checked all the fuses with a meter both under the hood and under the dash. I've moved the shifter back and forth from drive back to park several times. I've shaken the truck, rocked it back and forth, in case something was blocking the fuel pump(desperate I know!). I've tried all 3 keys at various time intervals to eliminate a chip issue. The security light goes out and stays out when any of the 3 keys are inserted.
About a month ago I installed the 12VSolutions remote start system with the long range kit(smart phone). It has been working and still works, with the exception being that the truck won't actually start.
Looking for any suggestions....I'm out of ideas.

I think you are experiencing first hand why 4R’s still
use turn keys and old school technology...because it’s reliable and works! I would backward troubleshoot the remote start and go from there. Sounds like you have a short or something.

Does it start using the remote start? How long has the vehicle been parked? Any other work done to the vehicle? Any rodent issues in the area where it's parked? The fuel pump ECM is mounted on the left frame rail after the rear axle, make sure the plug and wiring there is OK.

The remote start engages but no, it doesn't start. Only other work has been lift, tires, bumper, etc...stuff like that. No other electrical work. I don't know of any rodent issues, although I did think of that and looked around for evidence of it. I did find a birds nest haha...under the battery in the fender area. Abandoned, but wow, they work quick!
I'll check the fuel pump ECM and wiring in the morning when there's light...they never break down in a convenient spot!

As YellowSnow said---get back to basics. Disconnect the remote start gizmo and try to start with a key in the ignition.

I agree, and I will if I have to. That unit was such a pain to install(plug and play ain't what it used to be) that I'd rather not pull it all out unless that's the last resort. Honestly, I don't even use it. I always start the truck with the key. I thought it would be more useful than it actually is.
In the meantime, if there's some things I haven't looked into or need to troubleshoot further I'd like to do that first.

check the basics. fuel, spark, timing. are you getting spark? fuel? timing (although HIGHLY unlikely on a 2015) if you're not getting spark, you know to check the ignition related systems. if no fuel, you know to check fuel systems. it will at least help you narrow down which area you need to focus on. good luck!
edit: forgot to add, my guess is a loose plug for your remote start but take that with a grain of salt.

Today I removed the remote start unit altogether and put it back to factory condition. No change.
I crawled around under the truck and inspected for any "rodent" style damage, but none found. All wiring looks good and the fuel pump ECU and it's connector looks good.
I disconnected the battery for an hour, double checked all the fuses, and double checked the security light was off when I inserted the key. All resulted in no change.
The truck ran fine Friday night, parked it with 3/4 tank of gas, got in the next morning and no start.
Right now I am looking for my scanguage to see if there are any codes, but I don't suspect any.
Does anyone know where the fuel pump relay(if there is one) would be?

You should be able to hear the fuel pump running by turning the key to on; if it's relatively quiet. Also, I'd be surprised if you didn't have a code in this situation. You are in Park or Neutral right?

Not quiet enough to hear the pump running, and after a scan I get no codes as expected. Yes, the truck is in park.

You probably already checked, but Ive had rodent damage to my FI system, under the the intake manifold. Took me forever to find it and Almost missed it. I had to pull the plenum off to get to it. Just a thought.

Just for grins I would put some gas in it. My fuel level sensor was bad and giving me incorrect readings on the gauge. Ran outta gas twice. Kinda odd it would happen when you just stopped at the house for the night but you never know.
