Purchased the WildPeaks AT3Ws and have no complaints. Similar to yourself majority of my driving is on road. Also the price point of the WildPeaks are better than majority of the tires out there.

How many miles do you have on your KO2s? Mine started to suffer after about 10k. The rubber compound just seemed to get really hard.
I would get over 50,000 miles on several sets of load range E tires on my 2500HD diesel. Before that I used load range C on that 2500HD and 1500s that I've owned over the years with the same results. I never had wet weather issues with any of them.

I don't expect any AT tire to last me more than 30k. But I would rather not be looking over my shoulder in the desert, or wherever else sharp rocks abound, over half of that mileage. I can realistically expect 30-32,000 from KO2s without that particular worry but I like the Wildpeaks much better in all other respects. Will see. Will be monitoring reviews of the brand new Destination XT.

I currently have Nitto TG2 (stock size, P rated) with about 45K on them, still very quiet, smooth and plenty thread left. 4Runner is used for hunting trips in Texas (mud\rocks\thorns), numerous family skis trips, trips to the west and Rockies with moderate off-road trails-including Moab and it is my DD… no issues… the only negative thing is the wet traction got bad as they got older... hence looking to replace them soon… and at this point, I am 90% set on WildPeaks AT3Ws.
Based on all comments I see here my only two concerns with AT3Ws are possible balance issue and their weight (negative impact on MPG and performance).

shoutout to discount tire, they were fast getting the tires in and at the last minute I was on the fence about the wildpeaks and wanted to compare them to cooper discovery tires and they mounted one and put it on the 4runner for me to see and in the end the wildpeaks price and looks won me over...so far KNOCK ON WOOD absolutely no front end shimmy or balance issues...ride seems smoother than old tires with no added road noise

I purchased my AT3's about 9 months ago and they've been fantastic! They are close to $300 less than the KO2's and perform better in wet and snow. I also had the Nitto's on my FJ which I enjoyed, but they got loud at their half life. I would recommend the AT3's to anyone!

I think some people take individual cases of issues as the norm.

Both the Wildpeak AT3W and the Discoverer AT3 are top-tier tires. Neither is perfect. The AT3 is not the strongest AT and the Wildpeak has quality control issues here and there. Most people won't have AT3 punctures or Wildpeak balance issues. The KO2 is also a top tire but for a specific reason (strength in very rough terrain).

Looks great! I am not sure if black color of your truck makes the difference, but considering you have 1.75 lift those stock size tires still feels the wheel well really nicely!!

I agree. The stock size looks perfect with that lift. Great looking rig.

The 265 Wildpeak has 9 inches of tread. This is on 7.5 wheel but I don't think it matters because the tire unmounted is still 8.9". Section width is different and wheel size matters there.

9" is A LOT for a 265. The stock tire is 8.3" wide in the tread area and most 265s are between 8.3 and 8.8 wide.

In fact, there are 275s that are narrower than a 265 Widlpeak and 285s that are barely wider. It all depends on the specific tire.

On the other end, this also makes comparisons vs 255 exaggerated. Whereas a normal 265 would be 0.5" plus minus a little bit wider than a 255, the P265 Wildpeak is more than 1.25" wider than the narrowest 255s!

So, nothing like the 10 mm difference on either end.

Reading through the reviews of these tires on discount tire is interesting to me, because some of the scores contradict what has been shared here and elsewhere.

BFG KO2 112S / Load Range C: 4.7/5
Falken Wildpeak AT3W 115t SL: 4.6/5
Nitto Terra Grappler G2 115T SL: 4.6/5

For example, all have the same rating for "ride comfort."

KO2 has a 4.5 rating for ride noise, and the AT3W and G2 have a 4.2 rating, but they're both passenger tires, so I would think they should be quieter?

KO2 also has a higher wet traction rating than the G2, but AT3W is best.

I guess I'm really most interested to know what type of change I'm going to see in ride quality and comfort going from a BFG KO2 Load range C to a Falken Wildpeak AT3W passenger tire.

Has anyone here gone from:

P-Rated Terra Grappler G2 to C-Rated KO2?

or

C-rated KO2 to P-rated Terra Grappler G2?

Trying to get a feel for how ride quality differs between the two. I am currently leaning a bit more towards the TG G2 because of weight. People complain about wet traction with the TG G2, but they also complain about it with the KO2 and I've never had a problem. I think the full time 4X4 helps (Limited).
