So with aftermarket fitment is not so great...also looks like mounting for mirror itself is different than OEM
Not sure if will go with aftermarket.it was cheap enough to try and play with.might have to find some used OEM
im also running the rav4 mirror and it looks like it will not fit the aftermarket housing

The cartrimhome dynamic turnsignals came in today and just swapped them out. Youi can tell they are made for a rav4 but still went in ok. Missing a clip in point but they fit snug after all done. They are not any brighter than stock but the dynamic blinking works well.

I'm not understanding how your mirror signals are not brighter. I bought the cartrimhome ones as well, and they are very much brighter than the OEM. They are easily visible in direct sunlight, and throw a lot of ambient light in the dark.

Got my MESO puddle pods installed. Pitch black night, the light throw is impressive. It lights up the entire side of the truck. What is cool is that the lights come on when you unlock the doors, even if the truck is running. Of course a switch will be killer when it comes out.
I have no idea why the photo loaded sideways, it was taken landscape, and the forum flipped it to portrait and put it on it's side.

They look identical in person. The drivers side is black asphalt, the passenger side is short dry grass. So, there is a difference in both color and texture.

I have the VLED puddle units on my Tundra and they are amazing. Very pleased with the light.
One of them went out about a month after I got them and VLEDs replaced the unit under warranty.

It might be too big overall and the forum is flipping it to stay within some maximum limit on width. If you can easily resize it try uploading something no more than 1000 pixels wide and high. Cropping can also help
Example

Yes, that’s the LED module in the MESO Pods. Minus the bezel that is shown in the three versions. Cost is $60 for a pair. There’s no direct replacement for the 4R though. It looks like the 5th gen OEM insert that holds the light fixture could be modded by carefully cutting it out and dremeling the proper diameter hole. The bezel with 3M tape would cover the rough edges. Might need the LED array to be tack glued in place.
Hmmm... who’s gonna be the first to try this?

I installed mine tonight and I have to thank everyone who posted pictures, advice, useful links and videos for mirror housing disassembly.
The vLED units are really bright, like little arc reactors from Iron Man's suit.
Once I plugged the Meso wires into the bulb socket I wrapped it in Fusion tape to make it more water resistant. I also pushed the round Meso power connector through the square hole in the plastic so as to help keep things from rattling around

I bought the CarTrimHome Sequential turn signals and didn't like them. Sold them and helped a local member install them instead.

Doesnt the OEM bulb somewhat exposed to the connector as well? Just like the meso connector? I see alot of people concerned with the connector getting wet

I used a length of heat shrink tubing to cover the connector and factory connectors. I pulled the plastic bulb holder away from the wire/connectors, put heat shrink over the wires, connected the tabs to the plug base shaped LED adapter connection and heated the heat shrink up around the connection. Once it was all secured in place, the plastic bulb base slid back down over the heat shrink and held everything in place. I do not anticipate any problems.
I am also curious what Friggen Idiot didn't like about the signals. I think they're a very clean and worthwhile upgrade for $60. Anything that increases visibility to other traffic is worth my $.
