side note: Meso custom Tacoma 3rd gen LED dome light works on 5th gen 4Rs as well. I replaced mine for the the red led and its much easier on the eyes than any white led.

Right now the Last fit T10/194/168 at 400 Lumens are at the top of my list for the puddle lights however still waiting on a Lumen number on these ( see below).... being that the emitters are all on the same plane and would all be directly pointed to the opening on the bottom of the side mirror this may turn out to have even more light.

What I found daunting was the idea of pulling off the mirror. I didn’t trust myself to not break something. I was more comfortable with the painted cover removal method. I’ve used this method four times with no problems. (The main grab point to start is the pointy section toward the window). It gets easier each time. See post 20 below for more info.

Either way, you will be successful.

Thanks,

. I’ve seen this method as well and like the idea of not having to remove the glass.

Just an FYI brighter means hotter, I would check the housing if they have been on for a while, you don't want to melt inards. (if you are using them as a switched light, LED's can get super hot)

I recently added the meso much better then just putting an led in the stock slot. the light is way, way brighter. if your going to take the time to brake down the mirror to change the bulb just spent the 100 bucks and buy the kit. I had to keep changing the amazon led bulbs they don't seem to last.

This weekend I replaced my Lasfit T10's with the Meso LED pods, and my God what a difference. The Lasfit T10 bulbs are great, and very very bright, but I couldn't believe the difference with the VLED pods from Meso.
Here's a before as I was installing them
And here is a side by side before and after, the new Meso on the right, and the Lasfit on the left
Further back
These are the same lumens, however the panel being out with no lens or diffuser produces so much more outward light.
Here's the Lasfit only, very bright on it's own, but nowhere near the throw of the VLED

I have had Opt7 and Lasfit. Green and red, both great colors for out in the woods. Both work great, just make sure you get the right shape size or they will get knocked out of the socket when you put the mirror back on.
