2016 TEP Driver’s Seat Problem

Was vacuuming today and tried moving the driver’s seat back all the way back like the passenger seat and it stopped about 3” short. I didn’t see any obstructions in the track or under the seat.

I’m short, so I don’t need it to go back any further than it will go, but want the seat working properly.

Can someone confirm the driver’s seat goes back as far as the passenger’s seat?

If so, any ideas on the issue?

Thanks.

I don't have a TEP, so my passenger side is manual slide with driver side being electric. They both go back the same amount (no discernible difference).

Does it just 'stop', or does the motor/worm drive keep trying but not go anywhere?

You mention you're 'short'. Did someone adjust the driver side seat to be more forward by adjusting brackets / mounting on the rails at some point?

Makes a clicking noise when it stops moving back and bought new so no mods to the seat. The front of the seat stops at about the “R” on the shifter.

You probably have the height adjustment maxed out. Adjust the seat all the way to the floor and all the way back then compare.

Seat height has nothing to do with the forward/reward adjustment.

I drive with the seat height about maxed out, and with the seat all the way back, because I have long legs and arms, and a shorter torso.

The only seat adjustment that might hamper the reward adjustment is the seat back rake, if you run it way back with the rear seats down.

I just ran both of mine all the way back.
They look the same.

I know, it mangled my attachment. It's a no go.

This is a big step up from the 1986 Subaru GL wagon I used on the Outer Banks beaches for 14 years. That thing would go anywhere in the sand on 185/70-13 tires. Dual range 5 speed, factory skid plate, 3 position manually adjustable rear shocks and armored exhaust. All factory, including the white spoke wheels. The front sub frame finally rusted apart.

Sit in the driver’s seat and put it all the way to the top adjustment... then put it to the lowest adjustment. It doesn’t move in the track, but it moves you closer to the steering wheel. My 5’8” wife puts the height up at the top setting... when I get in I just adjust the seat lower. Doesn’t move in the track but the end result is the same. When I put it at the highest setting, it appears that it is not as far back as the passenger seat... because the passenger seat doesn’t have a height adjustment.

I lowered the height (it was maxed) and was able to move it back. Thanks much.

Thumbs up

Glad it was a simple fix.
