Car Camping in a 5th Gen

I've actually never car camped in "city" setting. I was wondering what people use for blackout curtains and how they mount them? Thanks y'all!

You can get a set for all of your windows at Auto Heat Shield. Front is held up by the dash and sun visors, rest use suction cups. I got silver. Auto Heat Shield

Just checked mobile phone website and only saw windshield and front door windows. Maybe they discontinued the rest? Try calling them.

I just draped a giant towel I carry over the front seats, back seats were folded down. Blocked a lot of light, even being parked under a bunch of parking lot lights. My back windows are very dark tinted, so just ambient type light coming in.

My only issue is cannot do it during the summer, too hot, and the air gets stuffy even if cool out, one of those cordless fans would be good, along with making some white noise.

Weathertech makes a good set that I've used. Not cheap

We use Reflectix insulation. It is basically the same as the windshield stuff but comes in a roll so you can cut it to size. Agree with above poster though, too hot in summer. You can also rig up screens with magnets to gain a little privacy depending on how tight the screen material is.

@Cadesun do you have any photos of the reflectix over the back and how that works?

I'm wondering if there is a hybrid approach, where you can cut a hole in the top part of the reflectix and put a screen over the hole so you get some privacy but the ability to roll down the window a bit and get ventilation too.

The thing I'm trying to solve for is rain. I have a screen with magnets I can put over the sun roof which is fine if the weather is good, but not workable if it rains.

It seems that the top ~third of the back window is sufficiently covered in the 5Gen that even if the window was down, rain wouldn't be a problem, so I'm trying to figure out what the best way to apply a screen there is ...

Let me dig through some pictures when I get home from work tonight. Hopefully I have some that can help.

I made my own for my dogs but comes in handy for camping as well.
