I wish they would get production on the plates and drawers back up.

It's pretty easy to mock up and make a base plate. Shouldn't take more than a few hours to do it for less than $50. Even if you used high quality 13 ply baltic birch that's probably under $100.

If I wasn't currently living in an apartment, I totally would. I don't have the room to do this, thus want to purchase. Hell, I'd do it in teak if I had a shop or garage.

Any future plans for a 3/4 rack? I’d be interested in that.

Love your mounting system without having to chop up anything or rely on silicon.

We do not have near-future plans to pick up production of baseplates and drawers again, our main focus is on racks and we are not happy with having a 12 week lead time. Working tirelessly to reduce this and get everything caught up and scaled accordingly before we offer baseplates/drawers again.

It is certainly a bummer as we really like the system and want to offer it to more people but in the meantime, there are some great options on the market, you'll just have to be willing to get a little spendy with Goosegear or similar.

As far as a half-rack goes, we mull it around often but we have yet to do one. It will certainly come for the 5th gen 4Runner we just do not have a time frame for it yet.

OK, used the Sherpa BD rock light mounts and they are a thing of beauty.

Problem statement - when you are in the middle of nowhere, you want light to set up camp. Later, when you are relaxing, you want some ambient glow (maybe) that wont attract insects.

So 4 BD white rock lights, 2 BD red rock lights, and new LED boards for rear hatch lights that can toggle between white and red, and ...

... with low power draw, so can run for hours with no worries.

Sherpa has great accessories ...

I got the arclight panels for the hatch a few weeks ago and used them camping this weekend. They were perfect!

@SherpaEquipmentCo , what’s the current lead time on the 5th gen crestone rack? You guys get that down to a month yet?

Currently running about 6-8 weeks but keeping it listed at 8-10 on the website as we still have supply issues here and there. Working hard on getting these racks out as fast as we can! Constantly improving.

Anyone have a mounting solution for shovel/axe on the side of a Sherpa rack?

I hope the Sherpa guys respond with "we're about to release another accessory."

I've seen one person use quickfist mounts. I'm not sure those are sized to work with the bolts on our racks, though, and I'd be nervous about it flying off at highway speeds.

I also want to mount 2 traction boards on the side since I have a RTT going up top in a few months. FrontRunner has a nice solution but I'm not sure it would work on a Sherpa. So maybe people have ideas there too ...

Wasn’t inspired with much confidence in what I’ve seen out there so far. I decided putting my shovel in my Plano case on top of my rack was the best option for me.

The problem is for those of us that put a wedge RTT up there, no room up top. And their Instagram is full of people with tents lol.

I don’t have a RTT, but I see your dilemma. I would much rather keep a dirty shovel mounted to the rack, to avoid bringing mud or dirt into the Plano box with my other recovery gear. I suppose putting it into a trash bag would help keep things cleaner, but it would also be nice to free up space in the recovery box by not having the shovel in there to begin with.

Would be nice if Sherpa came out with a secure side mounted solution to solve both our problems.

Maybe a pair of their awning mounts with Quickfists attached, but I was hoping for something mounted directly on the edge.

Not sure if you're still looking for someone to do a rear cargo plate for you but peak to peak offroad is now making them and drawers as well. Obviously not trying to intrude on Sherpa's product thread but since they are out of the baseplate and drawer game then I don't see too much of a conflict positing another companies product. If that's not okay I can delete this post.
