If I ever gain access to a hoist or a forklift, I’ll definitely upgrade lol

Seems like a hoist and forklift are a must with those tents haha, that or 4 people. Not the easiest to get on and off!

Got my order in for the Crestone and some accessories on the BF deal. Now the impatient wait begins.

We ultimately decided to install them using the basic brackets that come with the tent (we used 6 brackets, not sure how many they come with normally).
Forgot to mention, the bottom tracks on the tent started to vibrate and contact the on the front most aluminum crossbar creating a loud "creaking" noise. I installed some pads underneath and have eliminated that annoyance.
Hope this helps

Very helpful thank you! i heard about the rattling and scratching with the stock mounts rubbing when it sits on the rack, and like you 1 inch seemed too high to my liking. lucky sherpa makes the half inch mounts and with my tent on the way, install soon!

If you're looking for a Canadian distributor, Krave Automotive in Calgary, AB carries Sherpa Racks. I imagine you'd like find a distributor closer to you that carries them as well. Epic Adventure Outfitters or Overland Outfitters in Surrey may also be able to get them.

@ SherpaEquipmentCo
the rack looks great. Install was easily done by myself in an afternoon, even allowing for the fact that I did the stupid thing and had one of the brackets inside the headliner fall off when removing the old rack. I even knew to watch for that but whatever.
The rack looks great, very sturdy. Fit is great and the wind noise really is minimal, so that's a huge win for y'all. When I need to go to the office it's 45 mins on the freeway at 75-80 and there are no whistles, moans or any other unexpected bad behaviors in the wind.
Need to find another day to plan my accessory mount locations, still waiting for a part from another vendor before I can do that.

OK, I'm about to have a Sherpa Crestone for sale. Great rack, but when Sherpa came out with the 3/4 design ("The Needle") I ordered one of those, since that's plenty for my needs.
So if anyone wants a Crestone and is in the Seattle-ish area. I even have new rubber mounting feet, so it's basically brand new ...

Just curious, when you already had the crestone... why swap it out for a 3/4 one?

Simply because I like the "form factor" - I sleep in the truck when overlanding, so all I really need a rack for is putting stuff up top - traction boards, water, firewood, random gear, etc. - and I've never needed the whole length in my trips over the last 3 years.
Sherpas are outstanding racks. If they had have had the 3/4 years ago, I would have bought that instead.
It's definitely a "like" vs. "need" but since I've got the time, and I know someone else will be able to take advantage of the full-length, why not ...

I looked on Sherpa's site and can't find lead times. Do you have an ETA they have given out? Thanks
