I have a 20 trdpro with 285 70 duratracs, no lift (waiting on eibachs too) ...frontrunner rack....yes parking garages are an issue...mine says a 6 8" limit and I have to swerve around the hanging signs...but sprinklers are much higher
... my daughters garage structure i did once while stock and it was real close, would not even attempt now.....so yeah its a thing

Very little on driver side fixed by pulling front liner forward a bit and a heat gun to reform the top part of mudflap (inside the wheel well). No actual trimming needed.

Still have an occasional minor rub at full LEFT lock going down a steep incline while on brakes.

Concern with going larger on the tires is:
1) reduced torque at the wheel
2) possible / questionable need to re-gear ratios
3) Speedometer and Odometer readings to be off.

I mainly will be doing road driving and my '21 TRD Pro is my daily driver but I want to off-road wherever I can / over whatever I can and not have to worry. I do like the aggressive look of 285s though.

Can anyone convince me to get larger 275/285 tires, haha?
From what I understand is that you shouldn't have any rubbing with 275 on stock wheels and suspensions.
285's would require some lift.

You can see my 2 current 4Runners in my signature to understand my comments:
1. & 2. You will not need regear with 285s. However, the truck will kick out of overdrive more at 70+ on highways to maintain speed with cruise control depending on height/steepness of hills. This was first thing I noticed after my lift and tires.

3. Speed will be low by about 1-2mph when compared to GPS. You cannot reprogram/adjust the Toyota ECU to compensate for larger tires like other brands.

You will have problems with lift + tires + tall Pro roofrack with parking garages. Not all, but there will be some. A normal 4Runner rack or aftermarket one should be fine. I had a Victory 4x4 rack on my '14 and never had an issue with garages.

If I lift my '21 Pro, I am pretty sure I will be sticking with 265s after having 285s on my '14

Regardless of shock/spring setup, Durobumps will only enhance performance. For how inexpensive, easy to install, and the significant difference they make when off roading I am surprised more people do not have them. Night and day better when compressing the truck.

Thanks for the thorough reply! I took it to the dealer today for alignment for the 2nd time since I got it a month ago (and it's off cause they put the shocks / wheels on after it arrives in the port from Japan). I had them try to recalibrate the speedometer / odometer and they said they couldn't do it and that Toyota made it that way, so it's just 2-3 MPH slower than what the speedometer indicates (I noted that when comparing it to my GPS as well like on Waze / Maps, etc). I wonder why they don't calibrate those especially for people who get larger tires...

As for the rack -- I do like how it looks and since I plan on getting the Eibach spring lift at some point, I may be forced to get an aftermarket rack that could also support more weight than the 110 lbs of the Pro Rack.

Side note: where is it recommended that I try to sell some of these OEM TRD Pro parts? I plan on getting rock sliders and will take off the Predator Steps as well as the Roof Rack... Also selling the T4R TRD Pro all weather mats. definitely won't do eBay cause shipping will be so costly. Likely will have to resort to FB marketplace and craigslist.

Unfortunately I had to get mine aligned just this week as well. It pulled to the right and steering wheel was off. It’s unfortunate and little surprising being a brand new vehicle. But local dealership fixed it. For me it was just adjustment on tie rods. Caster and camber were fine. But first time out of purchasing 3 4runners new have I had the issue.

For the speed thing…..it’s a Toyota thing. They have locked down their ECU’s pretty tight and will do nothing to support aftermarket or non OEM.

You will be able to sell the parts on this forum or the other 4runner forum. Predator bars should go easily as there are people who want them. And definitely the roof rack! Lots of people want them. Just might have to wait a little for a local deal or someone willing to drive. I had a previous roof rack listed on this forum and buyer drove from NY to VA to pick it up. But also advertise everywhere you can. After removing my Pro roof rack I was surprised how “lightweight” it really is.

So the dealer said “it’s the natural grade of the road pulling the steering wheel off to the right” and if I bring it again they will charge me despite it being only 4 weeks since purchase. Complete BS.

Firestone has a lifetime alignment deal going on which I’m gonna do. Taking it to them tomorrow to see what’s up. I’ll mention the tie bar issue you had and see if it’s that.

On Reddit at r/4Runner, there are a few other TRD Pro owners that have the same issue. So I know it’s not just me and the “natural graded the road”. All roads aren’t going to pull in the same damn direction!

Looks like it is because the shocks and wheels are put onto the truck after it arrives at port and then it doesn’t get aligned and calibrated afterwards.

Will update after they inspect it tomorrow.

Highways will typically have a crown for water drainage. So direction of any pull as a result would depend on lane you’re in. Left pull in left lane and right pull in right lane. But typically this would be very, very minor. Mine pulled to right all time on all types of roads. The alignment printout showed my total toe was out due to right side toe.

Agreed — depending on the bank and sewer drain locations there would be... but mine is turning RIGHT on every road, even in the left lane with a left embankment.

Here was the initial alignment. It seems like according to the numbers it would have been resolved and I’d say a solid 85% better than it was.

But when I took it to the dealer for a second time to fix that remaining angle, they weren’t having it.

Let’s see what Firestone says today... hopefully they can resolve it cause my OCD is eating away at me! Haha

I was able to locate a set of these on Tire Rack a few weeks ago, and got them installed onto my 2019 TRDP yesterday. Definitely loving the new look and feel. As another user mentioned, the addition of these springs has definitely firmed up the ride, but in a good way.

I'm currently running on 265/70/17 BFG KO2 tires and am liking the look of it. I'll probably stick with these for sometime before considering moving up to 285s.

Excited to see how these do in off-road conditions.

You’re talking about the Eibach springs for TRDP or the actual suspension package they have for the whole lift?

I’m talking about the springs specific to the 19-20 TRDP.

Specifically these:
PRO-LIFT-KIT Springs (Front & Rear Springs)

Hello everyone

I ordered the springs for my '20 TRD Pro. Once they are installed, I'm looking to upgrade to Falken Wildpeak A/T3W wheels in 285/70/17.

Has anyone had any experience with this combination yet? Does it require a BMC?

How about 315/70/17? I imagine that would require a BMC. Is it worth going a 315 over a 285? Or will that just sacrifice MPG without providing valuable offroad benefits (I live in the PNW and mainly ride in snow during the winter and foresty stuff during the summer).

Thanks a lot!
