Wrecked my T4R. Now in a 2017 GX460.
So, had an accident in my '13 T4R on July 4th - no one was hurt. Ended up barely past totaled per the adjuster. 195k miles of trouble-free service, and insurance paid out $19.5k.
Picked up a lovely 2017 GX460 Premium with 38k miles. Just wanted to say "bye all" - I'm sure I'll still poke my head in here from time to time...

Glad you seem to be coming out on top with the move! Enjoy, I hope to follow to the GX side a few years from now.

Congrats on the new rig! I really like the GX. Would love to hear some of your comparisons between the two.

Nice move up.
I might be making the move in the near future as well. I already talked to Demello Offroad about dropping it off with them for as long as needed so they can use it to develop items for the 460 as off-road aftermarket is really lacking when compared to the 470.

Very good and every bit as capable.
Technically it has more in common with a Land Cruiser, Prado, and the Limited 5th gen because it uses the Torsen transfer case.
Plus it comes with a V8. It's ideal for anyone who missed out on a 4WD V8 4th gen era or wishes the 5th gen came with a V8.
The 470, which is the older GX, shares a lot with the 4th Gen 4Runner, including suspension parts and can easily be built up into a luxury off-road truck. I off-road the deserts in SoCal with one regularly and they go where I go without fail.

Does the GX come standard with the 3rd row seat or is it an option ?
Momma is wanting a new SUV but we have no need for the 3rd seat .

I have been shopping these. I believe it comes with all of them but they fold pretty flat. Not like the 470 where they get tied up to the sides - which is annoying because you want to take them out but then have to put them back in when you need them. On the 460, if you don't need a 3rd row, you just leave them folded down into the floor but they are always there if you need them.
At least that's what I make of it.

This is true. I'd prefer the side folding ones as you can remove those. These fold flat yes, but you're still losing ~6"+ of floor height

Can you keep your rear hatch door and put it on the GX?
