Help: can’t shift!

I’m out away from town & dealerships and something has gone wrong with my shifter. I think it actually works fine, but there’s a thin plastic sheet that moves with the shifter and I think that’s gotten bent or something. Makes it super hard to shift.

Is there some simple way in the field to open up the shifter and just remove that thin plastic sheet?? Anyone have instructions they can give me?

You can pull the whole center console off around the shifter by simply pulling firmly, could help you diagnose the problem.

How to: Center Console / Shifter Trim Removal and Cean
