*Updated - 560 Miles and got tagged

Folks I'm sick. My new 2019 SR5 Premium with 560 miles on it got tagged today after somebody ran a stop sign.

Left front fender, both doors, both left side wheels have chunks out of them, alignment is screwed up, under body looks pushed in a bit.

Any body guys here? Providing frame is OK, ball park figures on replacing all if that? It wasn't my fault but I'm going to push his insurance co since this is brand new.

I'm worried about damage to drive line since it was knocked aout of alignment.

Picture doesn't show extend of damage

Provided you just need a realignment (in addition to the bodywork), maybe a couple grand. I just got rear ended two weeks ago in my TRDP at 40 mph, crushed the rear bumper and gate, glass and all, pushed me into the car in front of me and crushed my front end as well. Just over $4k to repair

Not really sure what you mean about "pushing his insurance co" - its a vehicle that needs to be repaired, they'll pay for it the same whether its new or has 20k miles on it.

Look on the bright side, you have an excuse to get sliders, new wheels? (not sure if they are damaged) and maybe a new bumper ?

Both wheels have chunks taken out of them and left rear tire sidewall is sliced.

Thanks. Well I'm wondering if I can get any extra for diminished value...something my sales guy told me about. I just picked this up last week.

That’s going to be quite a bit of money to fix properly. Both doors, front quarter, rear quarter. Then there’s any unseen damage underneath... and all that assumes the remaining body panels are still lining up properly. I’d check the tolerances very carefully against a new, unmolested 4Runner before taking possession again. It’s too bad the airbags didn’t deploy... that likely would have totaled it had the side curtains popped. By the looks of it, they’re probably going to have to paint most of the truck again to blend it. That really blows. And you’ll be getting non OEM parts I’m sure... most policies stipulate that repair facilities can use the the aftermarket stuff. With 560 miles, man I’d be wanting a new 4 Runner. That’s also going to be a significant accident on the Carfax - that’ll reduce the value of the vehicle by quite a bit too. And I sure every car repair guy and insurance adjuster will down talk you pushing a diminished value claim, but in this case it is well justified. Do you see any high value trades on dealer lots that don’t brag: CLEAN CARFAX? Nope. Honestly, if you were looking at used 4Rs, would you pay full boat for one that had been in a wreck and was repainted at a body shop? I sure wouldn’t. Sorry this happened to you.

I'm going to demand OEM replacement. I doubt it gets totaled but there's a lot of damage there. I'm concerned about that lower body rail just below the doors looks pushed in so that can't be cheap. I start asking for a new one but I know that's not how it works. I won't settle for aftermarket stuff.

I would want it totaled, if not after it is fixed i wouldn't want a not perfect truck that is supposed to be brand new.

Definitely sucks being so new. I hit a deer at 2k miles.

What they mean by aftermarket stuff is take the insurance money and instead of replacing with OEM, use that to upgrade to better wheels/tires/parts. Fix the baseline damage, but upgrade the stuff that most folks tend to do (most say they are going to leave it stock, but you do one thing and its a slippery slope). When I hit the deer I would have upgraded my bumper but the bumper I wanted has a 12+ week lead time so I didnt feel like running around without a bumper so I just replaced OEM.

I hope it works out for you. I’ve heard of people in this spot going to the selling dealer and asking for a trade in value after the repairs are made. With 560 miles and an accident, and such little ownership time, I’d guess there’s going to be quite a bit of difference between what you paid a couple weeks ago and what it’s worth now. If you financed and it’s totaled, do you have gap insurance? If not, you might be financing negative equity from this one in to a new payment which would really suck. In most insurance policies, there is language about replacement parts. If that language exists in your policy, you’re likely stuck with what they approve unless you pay the difference out of pocket.. if they’d even allow you to do that. Bad spot to be in for sure.

He's insured. I financed 28k so I'm hoping that works out. I might get screwed though it it is totaled as I know my dealer was running low on 2019s. I'm not looking to screw anybody but I want it back to new.

Look up "diminished value claim". You're vehicle is worth less now and they owe you a check for that.

someone ran into the back of my friends 1k mile Grand Cherokee and he ended up getting a check for around $4,000

You need to research Diminished Value. There are web sites that you can print out forms and help figure out the diminished value. You will get a sizable check from the other party's insurance company. Good luck

as for the tires and wheels, get the cash for them and don't except oem replacements. Get some aftermarket wheels and tires worth having. OEm tires are damn near terrible.
