Granted this is sunday afternoon. Ive been woorking 7 days a week for the past month, so i need to restock in the am. Thats one liter. So, i would say 4 one liters in the front and what ever you want in the center console( it's usually coffee for me, 24 oz and a 20 oz sb quad shot). Maybe its not the "runner" but container choice? Disclaimer: im not a fan boy and realize the 4runner is not the end all be all. In truth im a Ford guy and will one day be back in a 96 FSB.

I’m with Charlie vee. I think you need some different containers. The cup holders in the runner are more than adequate.

Here’s a 32oz nalgene and 36oz double walled stainless.

And the key fob thing was a joke. There’s a post in here about people complaining the stock key fob is antiquated.

They’re a classic. Nalgene customer service is amazing too.

I’ve literally bought two in the past 20 years. When one breaks I drop them an email and a new shows up days later. They stand behind their warranty like none other.

There are plenty of folks around the would that drive huge distances. It would be interesting to see if you get accurate numbers. I think it is safe to say, per capita Americans, drive more than most and longer distances on average, simply because the way our attitudes are and the way our country is structured around the automobile.

Yeah. Doesn't that car have tinted windows too? That suction cup will make a mess of those.

I said MOST not all. I believe there are only three countries larger than the USA on the planet and two of those have a much smaller population.

I’m also guessing that MOST of the people around the world perpetuating the narrative of the fat and stupid “super size” American don’t live in a country where it takes four days to drive from one side to the other. The UK was mentioned earlier in the thread. Hard to compare the culture and driving needs in England (about the size of Alabama) to the entire USA. Yes, I know that there’s more to the UK than just England, so you don’t have to split that hair too.

this is so dumb, you can easily fit over a gallon in between the cup holders... just in the front. if you need to drink a gallon of water while the most physical thing you are doing is driving in a climate controlled vehicle you should really see a doctor.

also, if you're drinking that much, at some point you're going to need to stop and piss -- and that's when you can refill your cup holders

Gotta love all of the haters in here talking trash because of a valid design flaw I highlighted that lacks in comparison to almost every other modern make at the moment. We live in the biggest state (Alaska doesn't count) which takes forever to get anywhere at 70-75mph and we travel quite often and when we do we have more than two normal sized cups with us. The cup holders in this vehicle suck and they lack in number, this isn't some conspiracy theory lol. I regret starting this thread now because I didn't realize how pathetic this forum has gotten.

I guess a more welcomed thread would have been finding the perfect place for your GMRS radio or a mount for your iPad for your "off-road" navigation tools? LOL, I find those threads laughable because most people go off-road less than a handful of times per year (if any at all) and when they do they are in large groups at events following one another, yet no one pops in and shit cans those threads which are numerous. And now we have resident "medical professionals" lending their advice on how much water one should be drinking haha, get out of here with your non-sense.

I guess we need need to revert back to elementary standards here and remind the lot of you that if you have nothing of value to add to the conversation then move along and keep your mindless insults to yourself.

i have a ham radio, tablet, phone, CB, GPS receiver, and still have room for 6 beverages in the front

seriously what the ****

when I had a BMW that literally zero cup holders it still wasn't an issue, i just put a small cooler behind the passenger seat.

this is such a non-issue it's silly. carry a cooler somewhere in the vehicle if you want more the liters of drinks you can fit in the front.

Uh chill. Not splitting hairs. I guess I missed the post(s) that ruffled everyones feathers

My question was genuine in interest. I would love to know the worldwide miles driven per year per country. Brief search only yields a few more localized results. This has less to do with “Super Size”, than duration spent driving per trip. That is what drives regional design.

@Tejas Valid design flaw, hardly, a valid design flaw is an airbag that exists to save a life, takes one instead.

I do agree somewhat the front center cup holder is not ideal, not sure how you could change it. You bring it closer the the driver you will hit the cup with the shifter. Anyway... seems there is no room for light conversation possible here...
