Bad ball joint?

Ive got a new to me 4runner, and it has a toytec boss kit on it with SPC UCA. Ive got a clunk sound that happens (not all the time) when going over bumps on the passenger side. Ive looked around and tried to chase anything that is loose, but cant find anything. My only suspect is maybe the SPC UCA balljoint as it seems to have a lot of grease below to boot on it compared to the one of the driver side. I dont know if maybe this one just has too much and it pushes out, or if the joint is bad and that is leading to my clunk. Is there a way to tell if its the joint that is making the noise? I am super irritated trying to chase this clunk down and dont want to replace the joint prematurely if it is not the source.

Pretty normal for the grease to come out. Better that it is coming out than it is to be dry. How long has the UCA been on the 4Runner? If it is used, maybe the previous owner didn't grease the joint enough and then when he realized it wasn't enough he filled it up to try and solve an issue that came up because of neglect? Are the shocks silver? Maybe the shocks aren't for the BOSS and they are too short so they extend until it maxes and that makes the thump? Does the thump occur going down or up?

Actually I am not sure if it is up or down. It just bumps in the road when driving. The struts are silver, as expected though because this is the kit:

Grease your UCA every oil change with the correct moly infused grease-

Your prob have SPC UCA as that is commonly what Toytech pairs with their Boss kits.

But if you have the clunk and need check for worn BJ its pretty easy.

Thanks for this video. I am leaning to this being my issue.

Worn sway bar bushing will give the sound you describe. i chased the noise around forever and when I replaced mine and clunk was gone. Easy and cheap to rule out.
