AOB Switch Issues with Illuminating image

I bought and installed a AOB switch and paid extra money for the NEW Blue to match my 5th gen dash light color. I tested the dash lights wiring and the on/off illumination prior to connecting to my relay. All worked fine.
(I utilized my fuse box under the dash as many others have.)
Next, I connected my GREEN wire (per instructions) to my relay and the switch worked fine again. Driving lights power up as well. However, when I pushed it to OFF and back ON again; the image no longer lights up. Driving lights still work as expected. Yes, my relay is fused. So are the Switch wires.

I followed the instructions, I've installed a large number of switches and relays in my life. They are super simple. So why is this switch causing issues?
The ONLY thing I deviated from the enclosed instructions was I wired the RED power IN lead from a fused slot on my fuse box - instead of wiring to my headlights. That is how I always wire up my lights so I can turn them on regardless of ignition or headlight controls.

Anyone else experience strange issue like this?
I can go into more details later...like what I wired up and where. I can also post the instructions with the color codes (which seem to be different than early switches posted here in the past) So before anyone tells me to Search the Archives... I did. I read. And unless the new switches have poor (opposite day) instructions regarding the RED / GREEN leads for power in / power out; I did everything correctly.

p.s. Yes, I emailed AOB. No luck. Not really sure how *I* shorted this out. I have since installed a new resistor and LED. But I need to solve this before trying it out.
