I bought a 3" toytec lift that came with a differential drop kit, I have an SR5 and added the TRD aluminum skid (factory steel sitting in the garage). when I drop the differential am I going to need longer bolts and spacers for my skid plate?

I don't have a diff drop, but the sway bar spacers included in the lift kit will make the front bolts that come with the TRD skid plate too short to catch. You'll need 60mm bolts up front to make it work.
Yes you will need longer bolts and spacers. I had that same problem a couple of months ago. I had to put spacers on the back where the dif is and also double them up in the front.
I too was told that the dif drop wasn’t needed and I also felt the same as it’s there I’m going to install it.
I just did this so figured I would bring this thread back to life for anyone's benefit. The ToyTec sway bar drop is 10mm. So I replaced the bolts that came with the Skid with 10mm 1.25 60mm bolts on all 4 TRD skid bolts. This does leave a gap between the skid support and frame cross member where the jack point support goes (center jack point between skid and frame cross member), so unless you also add 10mm spacers between the skid and the frame support I would not use the skid jack point.

I had the same issue with my standard SR5 skid. I installed spacers in the back only so it was tilted. I wasn't thrilled with that, so I talked myself into upgrading to an RCI skid plate that accounts for the diff drop.
