SR5 Without Side Skirts
Anyone have pictures of the SR5 without the lower rocker panel covers?

I took mine off one day and snapped a pic. Mine is a limited with sr5 rims. This was before I had my sr5 rims installed though...surely someone else has a better pic. I think it looks a little funny until you deal with the front and rear bumpers too...although I don't know what your intentions are. Unfortunately I did not take any other pics of this. I believe there are some other pics on these forums somewhere...maybe check the guys who added sliders to theirs.

I just took mine off yesterday. I'd like to get the black mouldings that come on the TE, but I'm still searching for someone who will give me a quote without telling me it would cost less to trade in for a whole new vehicle. Oh, the lulz.

Do you have any straight at the side shots? Ive thought about removing mine but am worried it will look too unfinished ans was hoping you might have a shot that would show how it looks from the side.

Awynt, I'd just save the money and do it yourself! TE parts will add up and get expensive....
Check out BFLAN's trim job here: New Sliders/Running Boards
Here is another picture of his trimmed panels with matte black wrap over it: 3m matte black vinyl
You could just trim it with a dremel since it's just a cheap plastic panel. If you'd like it to be matte black like the TE, just spray some Plasti-Dip or get the 3M vinyl wrap on it to really make it look professional.

Thanks everyone, I have thought of taking them off but it looks like there would be an unfinished look if I did.

Thanks for the tip, Will! Good info, saved the links.
Here is a wider shot of my 4Runner for you, emsmatt. It's from a cell phone, so the quality is lax.

Your 4Runner looks good from the camera distance. How about where the panel attaches to the fender flares?

Thanks, here are a few more.
I thought that after a day or so of looking at it, that I wouldn't like it without the rocker panels and would want to put them back on. It turns out that it's not enough of an eyesore to even care. It's hardly even noticeable unless you're specifically looking for it. I like it without the panels now. I'll be picking up the black mouldings that you can get like the ones on the TE, but it's not crucial.

Wow thanks for the pics! It almost looks like if you had a molded short mudflap that would wrap around a bit they would be good to go!

As I was taking these pics, I actually thought the exact same thing!

Was thinking of the same thing, a TE molding to replace the sideskirts (if there is such a thing)(money is not an object for this), then would be adding in the Westin 4" oval nerf bar or some sliders, that would even out the straight across look on the sides

4 runner limited side skirt issue with rock sliders fix
So i have seen many post on the subject. i was at a loss until i found a solution online here. it is actually a very easy and in expensive fix.
i have a 2014 limited. i bought Greenlane off road rock sliders, which didnt come close to fitting because of the side skirts on the limited.
if you remove them its ugly, if you try and rpelace them with the TR version its craxy expensive.
so the easy fix is. just cut the limited skirts, it was a simple fix and looks great.
remove the skirts, empty the guts of them and the take a angle grinder and cut them. 1 inch below the chrome trim is what i did.
problem solved. have a lot
