C4 Rock Sliders and Fuel Skid Plate issue: 2017 TRD Pro

Hey All: I installed the new C4 rock sliders on my 2017 4Runner TRP Pro. They look awesome and are a great product.

For my make/model, on the drivers side you have to remove the fuel tank protector, install the slider onto the side rail, and then re-attach the protector over the slider's bottom plate. Unfortunately, as installed, the slider plate now partially cover the bolt holes to re attach the fuel tank shield (Please note that this is not a "front to back" mis-alignment issue, but a lateral side-to-side issue) To be more clear, the only way to fully expose the holes to allow reattachment of the fuel protector would be to back out all the attachment screws and slide the unit away from the chassis side rails, which would make the whole unit unstable.

As all of the bolts on the rest of the unit line up perfectly, I am 99% sure it's on correctly, but...

As far as i can tell, my only real option is to remove the drivers side rock slider, and manually notch/cut back the slider plate to accommodate the fuel shield bolt holes. So before I do this, please let me know if there is something I might have missed or if anyone else has faced the same issue, I have a temporary solution in place, but it would not survive a real hit.

I hate to revive this post but I just encountered the same issue on my 22 T4R and C4 Sliders. Did you ever get this resolved?

It’s been a couple years for me now, but I believe I also had this issue and was able to get everything aligned by loosening the remaining fuel tank skid bolts, then inserting the bolt in question, and tightening everything back up evenly.
