Okay, so some of you may remember my old "clunk noise" post. Where the front end clicks. I thought it was the skid plate, but sure enough it has come back. It appears to only be happening with flexing, and being the UCA is lubed, greased and torqued properly, and the LCA appears to be fine (bushings, etc), I'm going to go with it's the shocks.
I do have a little over 30,000 on my Kings (King 2.5 Extended Travel), so I'm going to assume it's the shocks needing to be rebuilt, as I've pressure washed them, as well as lubed them in areas that should have got rid of the noise.
However I now have some binding kind of noise going on and I can't figure it out for the life of me. It appears to only happen when going in reverse, and only when the tires are pointing driver side. When going forward in same position, as well as passenger (reverse or forward) I don't hear it.
As I said in my previous post, everything is torqued to spec, as well as is lubed, and shows no sign of being damaged.
I did recently do the ECGS camshell bushing, as I thought my old noises may have been the result of that, it wasn't. During that time my shop inspected the CV and said everything was fine, minus the new seal at the dif that needed to be replaced (it was torn).
I'm waiting for them to let me know when they have an opening to look over the vehicle, but looking for any help on what could be causing this, just to help steer them in the right direction.
Would the ball joint be making the new binding kind of noise? Steering rack? Any help is appreciated.
Mine has been making a similar noise from the :05-:06 mark. Been to the dealer 8 times to fix it. They "go under the whole truck, tighten and lube everything," and it's silent for 4-5 days, then shows back up again.
Random question: Do you have an aftermarket Skid plate? Possibly the TRD?
Not sure if it's any help, but there's been a whole bevy of unsolved "front end pop/squeak" threads lately. Strange.

I do, but that isn't it. Originally I thought it was as it made a similar noise, but when I removed it and drove the other day it was still there.

That's one thing I was going to have the shop look for. Buddy had the same issue. His was coming out, but unless they didn't properly torque it when reinstalling after putting the bushing in, I would think it'd be fine (and they do a good job at correct torque).
Mine is making this sound occasionally, and I’m quite sure it’s the lower spherical bearing in my coilover, which is due for replacement
I did pull mine and check them when I upgraded my LCA's, I figured they were for bogged for sure. I cleaned out all the grease (I pack synthetic marine grease around them to keep the salt/dust/crap out), pulled the snap ring and popped them out, they were in great shape still. No play, no gritty feeling, nice smooth action throughout the full range. I was really surprised.
