Dobinsons Springs 5160/6112 Question

Hey all,

First, I have done my homework and scoured this site, but nobody has answer this question that I could find.

2017 Toyota 4Runner TRD ORP with KDSS.

I bought the Dobinsons 1.25-1.5 KDSS spring. However, Mike is telling me that it will ride more at 1.75 without a 100 plus extra pounds in the back.

Is this true? Have any of you installed the 1.5 without a rear seat and without extra crap in the back on a KDSS?

The reason I ask is that I知 going to lift the front and I知 trying to figure out where I should set my front shocks given the spread of a half an inch in possible ride height difference.

I want to keep my factory rake and am worried that if I set the fronts too low, that it will end up getting closer to level, which I don稚 want.

Anyone out there with Dobinsons know how accurate their actual lift height is after install? I知 going to install the C59-723.

The C59-723 springs lifted my KDSS 2019 TRD Off Road by 1.75” empty just like Mike predicted. With all of my off road recovery crap, some tools plus two steel Victory 4x4 Molle rear window storage panels my rear sits about 1.5” - 1.6” higher than stock.

My front end lift was higher due to the planned metal bumper and winch installation. With everything installed I retained most of my 1 5/8” factory rake. I believe it’s about 1 3/8” now. It sits level with my boat hitched up (300 pound tongue weight).

Trust Mike, He really knows his stuff well. I got exactly the lift he said I would when I let him know what I was going to have in and on my truck.

Talking

Thanks everyone. That痴 really helpful. It痴 not that I don稚 trust Mike, that壇 be dumb, there are just so many factors involved that I was trying to get a comparable.

I知 also incredibly literal. So if it says 1.25-1.5 then 1.75 doesn稚 make sense, thus the comparisons. Seems like there should be two springs 1.25 to 1.5 with no extra weight and 10% over stock and between 1.5 and 1.75 with no extra weight and 10% over stock, but that痴 just how my brain works.

I知 getting the 650lb coils in the front to go with my slimeline and winch, both about a 120lbs. So those should sit at the proper height once installed. But the front setting is contingent on the rear height without any crap in the back.

Again, thanks for the assist to a lift kit virgin.
