It took me a while, but I finally got an overhead console with homelink on eBay from a wrecking yard seller for $179. It didn’t have its Crawl Control section. Most were more so patience payed off. It came from a Trail, or Off Road premium.
Was a very quick, easy swap & just used my Crawl Control knobs.

Could you tell me how you linked them. I was able to do it for my garage door, but can't figure out how to do it for the gate with Apollo gate opener motor.

Your Runner didn't come with 3 programmable buttons near the crawl control for garage doors? They are there so you can program your gate, garage and someone elses gate or garage if needed.

Got mine in the mail today...definitely NOT plug and play, of course-that would have been too easy. I think I can coax it in with a little shaving down of the opening. I need to wait until this weekend for more time and light.

Just link it like a regular garage door opener. One of the remotes would not sync unit the 30th attempt.

Nope, you have the OR Premium that got those, for some reason the standard OR did not get these.

I'm kind of stuck on where I want to put this. This thing is pretty big and won't just slide into an empty space without getting in the way of the adjacent buttons. The contours of the dash make it that much worse to deal with as well, because it won't fit flush. I've got the cheapo SR5 so I thought about putting it where the heated seat controls would go, but that means cutting the plastic panel. Right now it is sitting in the slot shaped storage area, honestly doesn't look too bad there and is easy to reach. if I fabbed up a little piece of plastic to cover the visible side it would look pretty good.
The habit of not reaching up to the visor after 30 years might take some getting used to.

If you don't mind my asking, how much did you pay for this? I also have the cheapo SR5, but I swapped the overhead console for a factory SR5 Premium console with the integrated homelink buttons. It was about $170 delivered and only took about 5 minutes to install.

114 is what I paid. Also bought it because my wife's new Corolla XSE doesn't have homelink and I thought that I could use it on her car if it doesn't work on mine.

At a certain point the opener supplied remote sitting in the center console works just fine and is good enough.

100%---a little strip of velcro and its all good. Just thought it would be fun. Convenience is key, and on the left side of the steering column where I have a some space to knockout just feels awkward.

Likewise. I was hoping it might work in the heated seat area like you had tried as that would be the best location.

So, the posting says that the battery has long life. Does that mean this thing is always on like the OEM homelink is on our rigs?
