I know it was super long but at the bottom I say I’m taking delivery next week hopefully Tuesday from what I am told. I will post pictures then.
I guess my sense of humor and sarcasm and lightheartedness was taken the wrong way by a lot of you. That was not my intention.
My intention was to say yes the TRD pros are super expensive now and here is what else you can buy for 57 grand.
And for the record I bought the car at MSRP with not a penny added just like everyone else will be buying it. I guess maybe if your twin brother is the owner of a Toyota dealership you may be able to get a discount on one, again sense of humor and sarcasm.
Finally a quick thank you to all the posters who were actually nice and not aggressive and angry in their comments and replies.
I apologize if my post came off the wrong way but in the end again I am just a Toyota 4Runner lover like all of us on this forum.
You guys have a good weekend.

I am one of the folks who took it squarely in the shorts when I traded my BMW X5d for my 2019 4Runner TRD OR. I couldn't get rid of that vehicle fast enough and ended up getting a fantastic, true SUV that I could safely and sanely keep for well over 100k miles.
Bottom line, I paid too much for my T4R as well and love that I did...

Your mistake is assuming anything about said forums. You never mentioned it, nor truly implied it with the lack of context.

i think army green is nice as a 4R color, but imo i like my imperial jade mica 3rd-gen's color for the depth and tasteful, minimal glitter. i think the flares for the army green would be sharp in graphite. obviously all opinions.

It seems I have struck a nerve. I apologize for my ambiguous statement. I was attempting to point out that people are acting like the douche bag Honda fan boys that tend to trash talk everyone on the forums. There is no need to bash the OP. Was I making an elitist statement? Yes. This forum used to be better than that. Hopefully this gives you the context you apparently need.
Thanks for your contribution...
(sarcasm was implied, in case you missed it)

No nerve struck at all, little fella. Merely having a conversation. Trying to help you out. You're welcome on that front. Hope you feel better now. Have a good day.

Likely not allowed here in toyota land but any highlights to share about the BMW X5? From a styling perspective Das Germans did a nice job with 2019 / 2020 design. I love the exterior and interior look of the BMW SUVs. Like most of us here, I could have found the money to buy the BMW rather than my 4runner but I know myself too well. I would have gone stark raving, set myself on fire, insane when the Bimmer started having expensive maintenance issues early on as they are known for. But then again, maybe it is just an old wives tale that the BMW SUVs are a nightmare to maintain? What experiences did you have with that vehicle? I noticed you used the word "sane" so I am guessing there are some stories.

I didn't read any of it. $57K is roughly seventeen too many K's. That's how long the post needed to be.

To the OP: Enjoy your ride when you get it (not sure if you have as I started skipping around). I am not a big fan of some of the exotic colors that the manufacturers' are offering, but others are and I guess that's why the manufactures offer them!
Put up some pics when you can.

BMW upsides:
Far more luxurious
Advanced electronics
BMW downsides
Over-engineered - all that advanced stuff causes expensive issues
Off-road capabilities are lacking - speed bumps at the mall are about it.
Resale value - drops like a rock.

Very happy with my new Army Green 2020 TRD Pro.

Bet you didn't pay 57K for it.

The OP states he paid msrp. The guy in the post you quote said he paid just slightly under msrp.
Perhaps everyone should read it before posting about it.

I just got my Army Green Pro last week and have been loving every minute of it, especially the color. But, I can certainly relate to the 3rd Gen color, Imperial Jade Mica. My first vehicle was a 99 sport edition 4Runner in that color with gold badging... that vehicle was sharp looking when it was all cleaned up. It be cool if Toyota brought that color back.

My X5 (diesel) was an awesome vehicle until I hit 50K miles and the value tanked and then when I hit 90K miles and the mechanical/electrical gremlins decided to make a permanent home in the vehicle. The issues I had were too many to list but the weirdest is when I walked out to my car after work and all the windows rolled down on their own... not all the way open and all at different heights. The local dealership wanted to "band-aid" fix or ignore all the problems until after the extended warranty ran out at 100K miles. I had an independent BMW shop look it over and they gave me a list of warranty fixes that should be done, but the dealership service department wouldn't consider their recommendations. Enough was enough and I traded it in at 94K miles for my 4Runner.
