It would be quite shocking to see a TRD Pro go for invoice - I would love to see it. If that happens, it will be a new benchmark price that will have an impact on the rest of the models, I hope we see it. If you get a firm price on one for invoice, let us know for sure. I am hoping to get a TRD ORP for invoice, have them throw in TRD Wheels - that is my current stance, we'll see how this all unfolds in the coming weeks.

I got quoted $34,892.24 for a base SR5. About $900 more for one with the third row. I’m tempted to go this route and add Katzkin later.
The main use will be skiing and mountain biking. Any advice for the best trim level to navigate snowy passes? I’ve searched and searched this forum, and not found a conclusive answer.

I think all trims are fit to handle snowy passes, it will really be the tire selection that will make the big difference. There are a lot of threads that address tire selection and which seem to do better in snowy conditions. Only the Off Road Premium and Pro have crawl control, locking differential, and a few of the additional off road features, but unless you are doing some more hard core off roading, those may not be necessary.

A good set of all terrains with snow rating and a 4WD SR5 is all you'll need. You won't need lockers, crawl control, or A-TRAC for a snowy road. Now if you WANT that stuff, it's a different story

Thanks for the help guys. There is a lot of info to wade through on this forum. It looks like a lot of you do some serious off roading as a hobby.
I always swap to snow tires in winter. It sounds like the SR5 would be perfect. For me the only reason to go up trim would be to get KDSS for nicer road handling, then.
I’m not sure it would be worth the $ to jump trim levels. With CarPlay in the SR5 trim and standard safety features across the board, the SR5 is looking good.

I really like the SR5 Premium - as you get the softex and Push Button start, not sure if the standard SR5 has Push Button, but that may not be on the list of must have's. I really want the KDSS, so kind of forced to go Off Road Premium. But that is also pushing me towards the extended warranty as I don't want that to fail just out of Warranty. Check the thread for extended warranty, and you will be shocked how cheap a 100-125k mile warranty is.

Just bought a 2020 ORP and figured I should created an account so I could respond to this thread.
2020 TRD Off Road Premium Super White (No KDSS)
Includes: Moonroof, Cargo Tray, All weather floor liners/Cargo Tray, Exhaust Tip, Roof Rack Cross Bars (Wouldn't budge on build)
MSRP: $43989
Invoice: $41663
Quote: $40,663
Vehicle Theft Assist: $199 (Dealer Add On)
Doc Fee: $499
Total: $41361 (Before TTL)
The car is expected to be delivered in the the next couple weeks. I live in Vegas and all the dealers are waiting for their 2020s to leave the LA port.
Lowest offer from 3 different dealers was 40,363 after very little email haggling. Because the offers were all within $300 dollars I decided to go with the dealer that was easiest to work with.
I know I payed a little bit of a premium buying before they hit the dealers lots.

Great info, thanks for the post! This is really helpful for those of us about to start the negotiating process. It is really good to know early on where the dealers are willing to budge. Looks like you got around 7.5% below MSRP, which is good for the first wave. Congrats on your new Ride, I am looking for the exact vehicle, with KDSS though. Gonna be a long 2 weeks for you I'm sure.

Thanks for the info, that's not a bad price, hopefully mine goes for a little less as i'm not getting a moonroof.

I have to ask...
I did not do a tremendous amount of haggling on my 2019 ORP a month ago, and drove away with it at $36720 plus ttl. Do you feel like the features you are getting justify the price??
2019 TRD Off Road Premium Super White (No KDSS)
Includes: All weather floor liners/Cargo Tray Carpet TRD mats, 4yr maintenance plan and TRD skid plate.

The 2019's are definitely getting a nice discount right now and it is very tempting to go in that direction. I have seen some 2019 Pros go for $44k-45k recently. It looks to be around a $4600 premium on the 2020 ORP's right now - and that is double what the MSRP jump was from 2019 to 2020. That will come down as they sell the remaining 2019's. For the creature comforts, I will hold out for the 2020, just an overall better cockpit feel from what I can sense on the videos rolling through and the tire pressure monitoring is a bigger plus for me than the push button start. I have been using Apple Car Play in my wife's new car and I like the fact that the software gets updated and improves without needing any new hardware. I drove the new Honda Passport, and it was so nice inside. I then drove the 2019 4runner and it just felt unnecessarily outdated. But almost $5k is a lot of money for essentially the same vehicle.

That's a tough question to answer. I didn't plan on buying the Premium or a 2020 for that matter, but I made jump because of the wife. To be honest, buying a 4runner wasn't a necessity, it was mostly a luxury so getting the wife on board was key, especially when I knew I would be spending close to 40k. My wife was really wanting the apple car play when I told her about the upgrades to the 2020s and when we test drove the 2019 she loved the moonroof and softex seats. I would have been happy spending a little less and getting a 2019, but I have no remorse spending a little more to keep the rest of the family happy.

2020 orp
I just finalized the order for a 2020 ORP with KDSS & moonroof. The pricing is shown below. The first number (e.g., $37,796 for Base Vehicle) is the Dealer's cost. The 2nd number ($42,470) is the MSRP.
As you can see, the "Invoice" price is $43,028. We agreed I'd pay $400 over invoice. I had ordered a 2019 ORP and got it for $100 over invoice but then passed on the vehicle when I found out the 2020 would have all the technology upgrades. The dealer let me off the hook on that deal but won't go that low on a 2020 - at least with them just now coming out.
2020 Toyota 4Runner TRD Off-Road Premium 2020
Invoice MSRP
Base Vehicle $37,796 $42,470
Classic Silver Metallic
Black TRD Off-Road Softex Interior
Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System $1,505 $1,750
Moonroof $541 $630
Keep It Wild Promotion $(435) $(750)
Delivery/Processing/Handling $1,175 $1,175
T.M.F. $1,100
Base Vehicle Holdback $897
PIO Holdback
Financial Reserve MSRP $449
Invoice $43,028 $45,275
Actual Dealer Cost $41,682
To me the bottom line is the actual dealer cost. I ask myself what's a fair profit margin over that cost. To me 3 to 5% seems right. Of course it looks like you'll have to pay on the high end of that for a 2020 right now. In 6 months probably toward the low end.
I hope this helps. At least now you know the dealer pricing.

My saga started with waiting and waiting for the 2018 Jeep to come out knowing that they were doing a whole new gen Wrangler. When it finally did arrive, I test drove several and wasn't impressed - mostly with the build quality and reliability. So I passed. Then decided on a 2019 4Runner. Every review of the 2019 just dogged on it's outdated feel on the inside and lack of safety features. Toyota answered those concerns, so I waited another 9-10 months for the damn 2020 - now I am just about at the end of my patience and really want to get this ball rolling. A few extra thousand bucks at this point is worth the upgrades. As I have saved that much by waiting so long.

I was quoted for a 2020 Nightshade 4x2
The MSRP is $47693 your internet price is $45990. So 45,990 before Dealer fee and TTL
I believe that 47,693 was with the following options.
OPTIONS
Keep It Wild Savings $-1,000
Carpet Floor Mats w/Carpet Cargo Tray $409
Nightshade Running Board $599
I ended up having them secure me one for a $1000 deposit.
