Those thin bushings are there for a reason, and JBA says to use them. Curious to see what happens with that.

Yeah I mean that's what I felt. Then I found other people not running them after hours of fighting with it.

I'm going to call them tomorrow and see what they say. Maybe there's a trick.

If I need them hopefully I can get them in before my scheduled alignment. It was a ****er of mother's for me.

If you don't have lifetime alignment, you may want to drive 60-80 miles before you get it aligned. Dobinsons coils do settle a lot over that distance and/or the first 24-48hr. Then any subsequent settling should be minimal but do check again after either 500 or 1000 miles. If you do have lifetime, you can align off the bat but then have it re-checked after 500 miles or so.

Also, don't put on new tires until you are sure your alignment is fine for the long haul.

I was thinking about just holding off on getting new tires and feeling out the change with the oem tires. Then when everything settles I'll get new tires and realign. Wonder if a warrentee would cover a change in tires. Might ask. Thanks.

The Firestone I use has been pretty good at not giving me hard time for being there often relative to most. But it is a good tactic to go when they have few customers.

They have not had issues when I have said I altered the ride height or had a couple months with lots of wheeling.

I did this by myself a couple of months ago, all 4 corners in a day. Kicked my ass and I was sore for 2 days! Holding the LCA down and maneuvering the shocks/springs into place at same time would have been so much easier if I had just dropped the LCA or had someone else pry down on it.

Dude the LCA method is a winner. Never done that method before on race cars always used death compressors. Second go was pretty smooth sailing. HAVE A FLOOR JACK. That makes life easier.

Speaking of sore this is day three of my disabled ass wrenching. I can already tell my body is going to be wrecked all week. Time for another 500mg of acetaminophen. Fingers crossed this washer business is a breeze now that everything is all together.

I actually had three jacks. Floor jack under the LCA, bottle jack under the KDSS piston, and factory jack with wood under the hub. I didn't loosen the LCA bolts, just forced it down with a large pipe. The bottle jack under the sway bar/KDSS piston made hooking it back up a breeze.

Upon reflection while buttoning it up I think I know what the problem was. I had too much shit apart during my install of the uca's. I was trying to manage the knuckle/brake/hub/axle assembly and fish all this shit together by myself. With the truck all but together it was pretty straight forward.

Truck looks great suspension kinda settled overnight a bit. Rake might be slightly more then stock but it prob just needs to settle. I would be fine with it either way. Looks rad. Can't wait to wheel it.

Now to go and try and get some tires before the alignment or ride it out on the stocks for a bit...

I would redo your UCAs when you are less frustrated.
I had to use a pry-bar to pull the arms apart a bit but doing that I was able to get all 4 washers in.
There's a thread in the 4th gens section that details it. I would have been lost without that thread.

Yea, I feel like there are a few ways to do this efficiently. Everyone seems to have a different method. After doing it myself I can see why there are so many variations.

I will do it alot different next go.

I figured it would be easier and was cocky about it. Thankfully I allowed for just enough time.

At the tire shop now about to fall asleep.

Already did it this morning. Much easier when the suspension is all together. Less fighting the knuckle. Used the oem tire iron. Worked perfectly.
