Bluetooth issue with iPhone X and 2017 T4R

I have recently begun experiencing the 4R losing the connection between my iPhone and the vehicle. I have had it to the dealer with little success so far. The vehicle will ring in and I can answer but after a time the audio from the 4R discontinues. The icons show that the phone is still connected but the audio through the vehicle quits. I can then switch the phone to internal speaker or handset mode and the call is till connected. I am having no issues with other bluetooth devices dropping connections to the phone. Also if I shut the 4R down and restart the phone will work again on the next call in but may drop out after a period of time. I am approaching the end of my 36,000 mile warranty but do have extended Toyota warranty but would prefer this be taken care of by bumper to bumper. Any suggestions from those in the know?

Are you running the entune 3.0 app? Since loading this app, all the glitchiness is gone with my set-up. good luck.

Wife had similar issue. Steps to resolve.

1. download and login to the entune app.
2. conntect to the 4runner by bt.
3. Leave it connected for a bit. Should get a popup on the HU asking about an update. Get it installed.
4. Go to settings/setup and remove personal data.
5. pair your iphone to the HU again. Make sure to answer the messages/contacts/calling questions.

Steps 1-3 may have already been done since you took it to the dealership. Recommend trying them anyways. GL.

I’d also check iPhone updates. Have been in wireless for 10 years now. Each and every time a new iPhone is about to launch older software gets weird from some reason. iOS 13 will be here very shortly that’s why I ask.

How exactly are ya'll using the Entune 3.0 app? When downloaded yesterday on my iphone it would not pair and appeared to work only with 2018-2020 toyota corolla, camrys, and another car...but no 4runner.
