Honesty: Does anyone REGRET their install of a supercharger?

I know we like to justify our purchases on everything (human nature) but does anyone wish they could take back their $7K for any reason?

I see only positive reviews, which is a good sign.

Yeah, I am considering it obvi. But its damn expensive on a low tech truck.

Subscribed.

Certain YouTube videos out there have discussion content regarding reliability concerns. A few mentioned their motors needed rebuilds under warranty but no additional details or root causes were provided. I'm also interested in hearing more about those who have regretted the decision, if any.

You're required to run premium right? If you plan on lots of mexico trips remember that.

Yes you must run premium. I heard that in the beginning (2017?) there were some reliability concerns as they needed to work out a few bugs on the tuning, but since then they Magnason has it down and issues have gone down a lot.

Don't have one in my 4R but had one in my SS Trailblazer.

How can you not love it?

And if you worried about reliability just remember. Cheap/Reliable/Fast. Can't have all 3.

*Just one owner's opinion*

I have a Magnason SC.

(No) to your question, I do not regret the purchase, it is really awesome.

Ask your yourself this: If Toyota offered an S model that had ~ 80 more HP, better TQ, characterful noise, and great throttle response.... All things that were very noticeable on a test drive and charged 7k more for that S model 4runner.....Would that appeal to what you want in the vehicle?

Same thing here, you just mod it after-market for 7k, but for some it is well worth it and for others the proven power of the 5th gen is adequate. It comes down to preference, IMO.

BTW, the tune and delivery of power feel much more powerful than the 30% claim, maybe it was my tune and the fuel, altitude, and roads where I live, but my 4runner feels very powerful and fast. I also added a Magnaflow exhaust that I would recommend as well.

2 things that I have noticed over the last 2k miles. I drive on a lot of hills and the truck seems to downshift down steep inclines to around 3.5k rpm's suddenly. On a steep decline where it should be below 2k rpm's. I usually just put it in manual mode and select 4th or 5th gear.

Also, I definitely get worse fuel economy. I was at 16.9 per the computer, and now I am at 16.6 and falling, I need to fill up at 300miles where before it was routinely 330-340 miles.
Both items are negligible to the enjoyment of the modification.

I installed one on my 2010 Tacoma. Rand it on the 1/8th mile on the first day and it was slower than when I just had intake and exhaust. Eventually ot got better on its own and even better when I swapped to a 2.85" pulley. However the truck was unpredictable. Sometimes it would be a monster and other times it was barely faster than a stock Tacoma while it blew out black smoke at the 1 to 2 shift. I'm sure it was all software issues. Never had a CEL or anything.

Also I bought before TRD cancelled so it was only $4290. I'll be trying again with the Runner. I'm waiting to see what Procharger has developed and of course I have to put together the funds.

It was worth every penny trust me. But unfortunately buying our first house was more important so it had to go.

You had some serious tuning issues.

Thats the one thing that has me keeping my 4R stock.

I'm used to Chevy's and HP Tuners. I'm no expert in tuning but I just don't like the fact I need a box tune.
