Uptop overland
Just wanted to ask if any 5th gen guys have their roof rack? It’s looks like a sweet set up with the grab handles on each side and a GoPro mount too. Just wanted to see if anyone has any experience with these guys? If I didn’t already have the SSO rack theirs definitely has my interest.

I have no experience with it although it does look nice. My question would be why are the center load bars lower than the ones on the end? Doesn't seem very functional to me

It actually looks like only the side pieces are elevated. The bars themselves seem to sit level.
Edit: Ahhh I see what you're talking about. I wonder if those are height adjustable. Seems like on the side bars there's more holes as well so that you can position the bars a bit higher on certain sections. Not sure why you'd want to but seems like the option is there.

I couldn’t really find any pics. Browsing their Instagram there’s a lot more Tacoma stuff. I just thought it looks like a good alternative to the usual ones people buy

Hey Overlanding isn't about what you do, it's about how you look when you're doing it.

This. It’s the sole reason prices are out of control in the “overlanding” scene.

I will pass on the UpTop Overpriced rack. I am looking at supporting the other Colorado company when I am ready to buy a rack. It has hand holes instead of overpriced parachute cord handles that will deteriorate in the sun over a years time.

As long as it has GoPro mounts b/c FFS we all know it didn't happen if you didn't record it.

I think they did a great job on innovation, and it has a wow factor first time you see it, but...
1. It has to have a ton of wind noise with that fairing design. Routing air above and under the rack, the hand holds, the slot in the center of the fairing, and cutouts for the light option
2. Light option cutouts blocking a lot of usable light
3. Tie downs. I don’t carry bodies or carcasses on top, and it has been decades since I had to go home for laundry day. Serious, why so many...looks?
4. Price...ouch!
Being a designer I always try to balance form and function. This seems to lean heavily towards form.

I’ve had my Bravo rack on for a month or so, really impressed. Wind noise isn’t bad compared to other racks I’ve experienced. At 75mph ya it’s noisy. Function is great, I like their mounting system, crossbars are adjustable, lots of useful options for adding gear. Paying $800 shipped for powder coat full rack for what you get was great for me. But, this is just my 2 cents and what works for me may not be what someone else wants. I can provide some pics if interested, and of my MaxTrax and Crazy Beaver on the rack.

It funny how everyone is making this type of water-jet-cut-bolt-together-rack now. They are literally all the exact same thing. Honestly, if you had a template i bet you could get one cut, buy some of that extruded aluminum and a bag of bolts for quite a bit cheaper than some of these guys are selling them for.
