You'll get a better price next year when the 2020s aren't the new thing that just hit the market. If you don't need a new vehicle immediately, just wait until then and order one spec'd exactly as you want it. When I was casually shopping in July I got several quotes that were just over 11% off (on a 2019 model). I didn't bite because I wanted to see what the 2020 model was going to be like. I don't regret waiting because I'd rather have a 2020, but the earliest I'm going to shop for one is next April.

BTW, MSRP on a 2020 TRD-ORP with no options is $41,090.
Good to know. I will wait to hear back from the second dealer to see what he states for the invoice price.

The next dealer a friend turned me on to, quoted me $1,000 over invoice but when I said a Costco dealer quoted me $100 over invoice he said he would try to get $0 over invoice approved. Still waiting while he finds the truck and gets it approved.

Anyway, does anyone know what "invoice" is on a 2020 TRD ORP? The first dealer said that on a $44,673 MSRP the invoice is approximately $42,000.

Does that sound about right?
Is $2,700 off MSRP a good deal or will it get substantially better by the end of the year or sometime next year?

Colt
Without question, it will get better by the fall of next year, if you're willing to wait that long.
I know a dealer willing to discount $4k off 2019 TRD Pros that are sitting on his lot. So you can imagine that if he had a '19 TRD off road premiums sitting, the discount would be even greater. It just depends on how badly you want your '20 ......now, or in 11 months?

Not looking to buy until mid-November, but the supply chain doesn’t seem to have flooded dealer lots with ORP options. My aim is

ORP
Barcelona Red
KDSS
No moonroof (honestly, I’m 6’1” and long in the torso—moonroof roof gets too close to my noggin)
Sliding cargo tray
No running boards!

Seems like dealers are flush with everything in MGM. Then super white, then... can we interest you in MGM?

I’m in Sacramento, but tried looking in other regions for grins and giggles. No dice. Autotrader grayed out Trim: ORP *and* color: red.

What am I doing wrong?

You said region but have you looked more at the Midwest? That’s where I found a deal when I bought my ORP.

42470 is without Keep it Wild (-750) or the Delivery, Processing & Handling Fee (1120) which brings the base with no options to 42840.

I picked up my midnight black metallic 2020 OR premium with moonroof and wilderness package earlier in the week for $41k total. Probably coulda haggled more but thought it was a fair price for a brand new model year just hitting lots and was happy with what I got for my trade. I originally wanted white but fell in love with the black. Right in time for winter and road salt

I was setting the search radius to 500 miles and worked my way through random-ish ZIP codes that started with 0 through 9.

Autotrader grayed out the ORP trim, so I settled for Off Road. And then scattered ORPs would appear in the results. So, that’s an Autotrader search engine fail.

It also grayed out red among the color options.

Patience. I would say late-October early/mid-November your options will begin to populate. Keep in mind, inventory managers are most concerned with pushing '19's off and fill in 20's as they can get them... at least that was what I was told at Mountain States Toyota in Denver.

They're saying any specifics to be off the truck after Oct 20th. Every dealer has a different situation.

I won’t be shopping with seriousness until November. Just trying to keep a finger on the pulse at the moment. But it seems like the 2020 market hasn’t really come to life just yet.

Got it. You and I are in the same time frame. Turn your radius to 'any' distance and look what they're going for across the country. I've found some 20's in the 42-44k range. Probably a realistic assumption before you walk into the doors to haggle.
