What is a fair price to change out springs on King shocks?

Hey guys,

I'm going to have to upgrade my front coilover springs from 600 pound to 700 and was wondering how long it would take a shop and what a fair price is for this?

Thanks,
Chris

well,

I picked up a real spring compressor on kijiji (craigslist equivalent)

When I rebuilt my coilovers, it took about 30 minutes to take both off the truck, (in my driveway-- it would be quicker on a lift)
less than 5 minutes to remove both springs, and likewise-- 5 minutes to compress the springs and reinstall the collar once the rebuild was done. And a good 20 or 30 minutes each side to reinstall the coilovers.... but I'm sure I was goofing around and cleaning up everything around the coilover.

A shop spring compressor is a specialized tool, and these things aren't free....
If they can pull the coilovers, replace the springs, and reinstall in two hours-- that would be acceptable to me. Some folks on here would say one hour.

some variables...
If they are not familiar with 4runners,
and if you have KDSS.... (I do)
...I'd add a bit of extra time. Especially with KDSS-- you don't want them rushing that. especially if they've never done it before.

So for me, an acceptable amount would be two hours of shop time.

It really is a simple task, but I couldn't do it in less than 1.5 hours start-to-finish.

I pulled my King COs off my truck for the swap and I only paid 30 bucks to have them swapped. If you can take them off yourself, you'll definitely save some money.

x2, remove from vehicle, bring to shop and ask them to swap the springs. i've had it as high as 50 and as low as "don't worry about it"
