Is my 5th Gen lifted? How to tell?

Bought a 2011 SR5 from the Toyota dealer not so long ago. Has various aftermarket things done to it. Has warranty but since struts are aftermarket they won't cover my problem. The truck now clunks every now and then and Toyota dealer told me the front struts are bad. It's on KO2 and tire size is stock size. The struts seem pretty new but apparently failing. I like the height right now and the look. The struts are Greyish metallic and read "Pro Comp" on them in blue. I know struts don't lift the vehicle just want to know if I switch out the whole assembly will the vehicle be lower? Not looking for a lift and the sound is different from sway bar links sound. Don't know if this one has em lol all I know is my 4th gen suffered from that once. Anyway how can I tell if the vehicle is lifted or not?

is it higher than standard 4runners? are there spacers installed? does it look like pics of lifted 4runners posted here?

procomp is a brand, there are procomp lifts but that would be like asking if you have a lift because it has bilsteins.

Measure and post the distance from the center of the hubs to the bottom of the fenders.

Can you take some pictures of the front wheel wells and beneath?

When I hear procomp struts, I think "bracket lift"

Some front coil over shocks do lift the vehicle like Bilstein 6112's on mine--->

So you need photos up close and see if the have circlip grooves or do they have spaces on top...

Also, if you can get a part # from the shocks and post it, we may be able to help you further.

It looks like ProComp makes a strut with an adjustable height mount, similar to the Bilstein 5100.

Pro Comp 2 Front Pro Runner Adjustable Struts and 2 Rear Pro Runner Monotube Shocks - SHOCKINGZXCOMBO | 4wheelparts.com

Before removing the shocks, you could look at the body to see if you can tell where in the range of adjustment the spring perches are set to judge the lift. It looks like the orientation of the perch dictates whether the truck rides at stock height or 1.75" in lift.

You could always replace them with a Bilstein 5100 to get what's probably a better quality shock and maintain your current height, if the ProComps are set to the 1.75" height setting. If they're at the stock setting, then you could probably replace them with almost anything.

Front looks to be lifted as the stock numbers are around 19.125 inches I believe

that strut is definitely leaking, and not serviceable.
procomp doesn't make shocks and struts, but they do rebadge cheap ones.

Some bilsteins as Saker recommended will offer adjustable perches like the one in your photo. 5100's can be purchased for all 4 corners for $400 or so. The larger 6112's are a bit more.

It's not a big deal, and it looks like your non-serviceable suspension has reached the end of its life. I'm guessing that the rear either has a spacer on the coil spring, or longer springs. (rear springs are cheap- and definitely worht the upgrade if you're changing the ride height)

If you like the ride height as it is, and are ready to proceed with the repair,
it's time to shop for some new struts and shocks. This is now a budget exercise.

So how much are you looking to spend??

You can PM your credit card info and address, and I'll surprise you if you'd like.

You might want to check out the eibach pro truck lift thread. There seems to be a LOT of folks that have changed their leaky shocks and upgraded to the Eibach kit. I see a lot of positive reviews, and we are lucky to have an active member here that works for Eibach and is very helpful in the community.

I recommend dobinsons for the same reason. Customer service is important.

Yup they are leaking. Think I could just swap out some Bilsteins in there? Install the current spring on the bilsteins? Because I want to keep the same ride height

He asked about the strut in particular. The strut does not lift, the spring does.
