yes old vehicles do have the brake pads move too much .. calipers do rust up a bit or wear on the setup position and they can move a bit and make a click sound when the brakes are turned on...
up in the rust belt pads rust up and get sticky and make squealing noises.
many new Toyotas have this squeal noise..dealerships put anti brake noise product on the pad backing plate ..some of the brake pads had to be changed from another pad manufacturer..Toyota ..
