Source to reference for differences from year to year

Is there a source to reference for differences from year to year?

I currently have a 2016 Trail, and am considering trading in for a 2019 or 2020 TRD Off-Road or or TRD Off-Road Premium. I would like to see the changes between mine and the newer models, and also between the '19 vs '20.

Does this information exist in a friendly-to-review format within this forum?

There is a slim chance that I might go for a '19 or '20 TRD Pro, but I think I already know the differences between those two.

Thank you!

Other than cross referencing the two model year's parts lists, I don't think you could identify most differences that exist if there are any.

I don't think there are any differences at all between a 16 and 19 trail except IIRC the front brake calipers switched to a different bolt size or something weird like that.

The 20 obviously has a lot of minor updates that we basically don't really fully have a list of.

the only difference that actually matters is that the 2020 models got new head units

10-12 are pretty much all the same
13 got the additional emissions stuff
14 was the facelift
2020 was the head unit changes

Toyota being Toyota, and into OCD levels of continuous improvement, I guarantee there are tons and tons of tiny-ass little differences we'd never know without part lists or software version numbers.

But stuff like engine tune has likely changed for the better, the metalurgy in parts, the rubber mixes in door seals, etc. A lot done to add durability but also reduce warranty claim rates, etc.

Thanks, guys.

I'm thinking that if I sit in a 2019 Off-Road Premium, that I'll feel right at home coming from my 2016, and might not even notice any differences without REALLY looking for them. I know that isn't the case with the 2020's.

I was wondering about things like different suspension parts, new source for gears in the differential, etc.

Thanks again. I'll look for a parts list, but not too hard, as it is probably mostly irrelevant to me.
