I have an early '15 in superwhite. No issues at all so far other than my own damage. Nothing peels paint off like rocks! If Toyota re-paints it - I'll take it. Lol. I bought it to use it, not to save it for the next owner.

However - I'd bet based on past experience that if Toyota superwhite had issues up to '15 - it also had issues up to '19 and just hasn't issued any sort of recall for those years yet. The diff needle bearing has been a known issue since the 90's and they still use the same design. I've yet to see or hear of any white paint toyota's having peeling problems though, so I don't know how common it is.

here's Toyotas response

The paint code is exactly the same as a 15 and I can't get any answers from Toyota as to if they chanced the paint or paint process between the years I'm sceptical not lacking common sense

The other disconcerting part is that every Toyota dealer and Toyota certified body shop has told me the exact opposite that it is a base coat clear coat paint job and that Toyota hasn't used single stage paint sense the 90's so either the Toyota customer service people or the dealers and body shops are ignorant to the facts 🤷*♂️

Yes, this is true.

I like my MGM 4Runner.

However, if I lived somewhere it was hot year round (AZ, NM, NV) - I'd want white. Working overseas in HOT Desert Environments (Iraq & Africa) white is the only way to go.

My company car from my last contract in Africa:

It costs a lot of money to re-paint a vehicle so I bet Toyota will do as little as possible to fix anything.

So the cement, sand, and the voodoo blue are all single stage? Just because one guy at Toyota says so does that make it true?. But it would be interesting to find out the truth from a second source.

I’m have 19 trd pro in white. It has sat outside in Florida for about six months now. The dealership put on pinstripes that I took off a few weeks ago. After a wash and wax there is no difference in the color so the white hasn’t faded. I have no blemishes except for the ones caused by the trails. I think you are worried about nothing but it sucks to stress over something so do what makes you relax. My guess is if you went new you would be stressing over wasting money but that is just my 2 cents.
