Red face Super Whit sorrows

So I have in my garage a 2019 TRD Off Road 4runner in super white with 800 miles on it that I have had for near six months. I work a lot. I am seriously considering trading it on on the exact same truck but in magnetic gray do to my OCD in not believing Toyota that the paint problems stopped in 2015. If I wait and have issues I will be super pissed because short of a full strip the truck down to the frame off the body repaint I will never be happy. I had planned on keeping this truck for a very long time and bought a 19 because it is the last year without all the safety sense nonsense. So should i loose 4k and bump up my payment $50 a month to get out of this potential night mare for a former detail guy or keep it and hope Toyota fixes it right if and when there is issues.

I think you're making something out of nothing, in my opinion. I would not worry about it and go drive her!

And what paint problems are you referring to? You do know that the super white does not have clear coat, it’s a single stage paint so you have to keep up on the wax. We have a super white 17 Tundra and it still looks new.

I'm not worried about trail scratches I'm worried about the paint peeling off in a few years.

A 4runner is not a collector vehicle, its a manly mini van. If the paint falls off toyota will make it right...until then, just drive the damn thing.

P.S. magnetic gray is ghey

Why waste time and money obsessing over a problem you don't have?

It seems harsh environment and lots of direct sun are key in the paint failure. My dad has a 2010 Super White Tundra. It is fine. Like yours, it is garage kept.
If your are worried. Use a sealant or a coating with UV protection. I personally use Sonax Polymer Net Shield on the Tundra and my Super White 4runner. I have Cquartz coating on my Camry.

If your truck is garage kept, and has covered only 800 miles in six months, I think we will all be dead and long eaten by worms before it gets enough UV exposure to have a problem.
I wonder why it only extends to 2015...did they change something in the paint process that model year that makes them confident the problem doesn't exist.

I got a 2014 Super White but my paint looks mostly fine. Didn't know about this, I will try to contact Toyota to learn more.

Thank you NWsuperwhiterunner!

Based on your usage I'd sell it and capture what you can out of it before it depreciates even more. FWIW I have 16 in SW and have no paint issues at all.
