Yea I'd also like to know where you guys get these things. Anything pre-cut that we just need to apply? That would be nice and convenient lol

I tried one of those precuts from eBay but just don't have the skill to apply it correctly. So I went to a local shop here in SoCal Home — ELEVANCE

That's the exact one I ordered from Ebay. The install wasn't too bad at all. I Just needed an extra person though when taking the decal off of the paper backing and laying it down on the hood.

Wow they want $55. I bought a 3'x5' piece of VVivid matte black vinyl from Amazon $25, could have bought the 1.5'x5' for $14. I placed a newspaper sized piece of paper over the scoop and traced the shape I wanted, cut the paper then transferred the template onto the vinyl and cut. I have found the Vvivid vinyl to be very easy to install and quite forgiving. Applied a little heat with a hair dryer and never a problem after 2 years. This was my first attempt with vinyl and I could not be happier. The 3'x5' was enough for two scoops and I still had enough to do the lower doors along the rocker panel.

I have a Garmin GPS mounted to the left of the clock. I did this on my 2009 hood scoop. The unit will block the reflection.

Anyone know the size of the hood? is it 5x6 or larger? I have wanted to wrap the whole hood and not the scoop.

Ah, something besides wrapping the scoop. Though I may not go that route, placing something there is a thought.

This is same buyer from Tacomaworld I bought it from. BTW the hood scoop from the 2nd gen Tacoma is exactly like our 5th gen 4Runner. I have one on my Tacoma and on the 4Runner.

The key to doing it by yourself is spray some soapy water on the sticky backside of the decal. Use a credit card or a squeegee to push out the water and bubbles. It gives you time to finalize the placement of the decal at exactly where you want it.

I’ve thought about the tint. It would only need to about 6” tall and 18-24” wide when placed at the bottom/ center of the window. Here it would be illegal, but I don’t think I’d get hassled too much, except inspection every other year.

Right now I’m using a baseball hat. I move it around on the dash to block the glare and it works well. I live in a rural wooded area and I’m only dealing glare in a few places I drive through regularly. I could see it being a pain to move the hat around a lot depending on where you live. When I have my cowboy hat up there, it will take care of all but a few angles, so you could line up 2 or 3 baseball hats.
