Yeah that is a tough one, rare 5th gen color. There's a hood swap thread somewhere, where you can post yours available for trade if you're interested. Might not be local though.

Look how much better the truck looks without that fake codpiece on the hood.

I like it better with the scoop.

Which part do you like better? The blinding glare into the drivers eyes? The reduced view over the hood? The fake plastic insert that doesn't do anything for performance?

I couldn't wait to get rid of this thing. It looks like a wart.

Had my White 16 ORP done in 3M matte black on just the scoop ending at the windshield, It helped but did not cure the glare. I think the glare actually comes from the shaping of the bend at the rear of the scoop.

I like the LOOKS of the scoop, as do many others on here. The only reason to have a functional scoop on a vehicle is to provide fresh air to an intercooler, or you have such a high-performance engine that it needs all the air it can get. If the 4Runner’s was ‘functional’, it would only add dirt and water to the engine compartment.

You’re probably right about the curve. Hadn’t thought about that before but it makes sense.

I just did a vinyl wrap on the TRD Scooped Hood if anyone wants to DIY it themselves too.

Check out the post https://www.toyota-4runner.org/3379937-post39.html

i can't believe that this "issue" gets so much traction.
I like the faux scoop look. I have never noticed a glare.
Maybe because i wear sunglasses.

Has anyone seen a vendor selling a quicksand colored hood wrap? I've got the black and don't like it.
