Has anyone had to adjust steering lash?
I've had this mild clunking over quick bumps, very minor when aired up but very evident when aired down. I've replaced just about everything and so the only thing I can think is that the rack is a little "loose" and when aired down it's causing more resistance on the rack internally. Just wondering if anyone has adjusted their lash and what that process was like. Looking under there it looks to be a pain to get to the adjustment bolt and I hear the engine has to be lifted a bit to get the rack out.
The only thing on the front suspension that hasn't been replaced is the lower CA's and steering rack. Everything else has been swapped out in the last few months, not just due to this but another cluck I was experiencing which was seized lower alignment bolts.
Any other suggestions as to what it could be?

I have the same exact problem and have been chasing it for years. The clunk pretty much only happens off-road when hitting rocks squarely.
I’ve also replaced pretty much everything in the front suspension with the same result: UCA, LCA, Swaybar bushings and endlinks, coilovers etc. One thing I’m going to check when I do my next oil change is the mounting bolts for the front diff. If that doesn’t work I think it will most likely be our steering rack. Which is going to be an epic adventure to get out and replace.

Bummer, well if it's the mounting bolts certainly let me know! Otherwise, we'll have to see who's gets so bad first that it reveals it's exact location! ;)

It could be the inner tie rods making noise, but you should feel the play.
I chased an intermittent clunking noise for a little on mine.
I have no front sway bar.
I checked to make sure all bolts/nuts were tight on the suspension.
Turns out, it was my skid plate making the noise.
Take your skids off and drive around and see if it goes away. Cheap and easy diagnosis.

Check your control arm joints first, if you do try to adjust ur steering lash... be care full if u tighten or loosen the worm gear to much you can destroy the rack. Best bet if it is your rack to just replace. How much play do you have in steering wheel and check joints on steering shaft also check all suspension bushings, very common problem for a pushing to "clunk" when it contact just right

I replace both my inner tie rods as well as outer tie rods. Same thing.
