Is 00279-0WQTE-6S the same? Online vendor?
Gents, hello, good day, thank you, and I am sorry. Went to the dealer to get some oil. Forum says 002790WQTE01. Dealer sold me 002790WQTE6S. Said its "the same.. yeah, the same". So would just like to be told that is the case.
And is there any online resource that sells the oil? I didn't find any, except Amazon occasionally carrying 4 quart packs. I'd prefer to buy online if possible.
Love you. Sorry. Thank you.

Everything else matches so it looks to be the same thing. Really any off the shelf oil of the correct viscosity will work fine.

Thank you! I appreciate the help. Last thing I wanted was to be this scrutinizing about all things oil and dealer related, only to end up being the idiot who messed it up himself by using the wrong oil altogether. Appreciate the help.
Where does everyone get their oil, that uses the Toyota stuff? No online sellers?

The difference between those part numbers is 01 is for a single quart and 6S is for a case of 6 quarts. Both are for the same Toyota Genuine 0W-20 oil.
I get my oil, filters, & OEM Toyota parts from:
Find Toyota Parts at Discount Toyota Parts - AutoNation Toyota South Austin
They are local to me but they do ship everything. Their price for the oil is $4.71 per quart or $28.27 for the case.

Hey! Thanks so much! Its amazing how knowledgeable people are here. The dealership did not know why the difference in part number. I appreciate the clarification. The bottle itself has the "6S" on it. I'd expect it to read "01". Glad I know now about the difference though!
Thanks for the dealer information, but looks like they do not have the oil on their site for sale via online orders. That seems to be the case for most online dealers. Can't find the engine oil that will ship. Odd since most places seem to ship other types of oils for the 4Runner. Really hoping I can find a place online.

Interesting. I just checked my oil (that I buy by the case) and it has 6S on it as well. My guess is that all oil in quart bottles is shipped to the dealers by the case and all have 6S printed on them, but 01 is what the dealer uses when you just want a single quart.
Sorry that they don't ship oil. If you can't find an online source then try seeing if any of your local dealers will price match or come close. I've had decent luck with various dealers just by asking. It never hurts to ask anyway.

Ahh gotcha. I got 7 quarts, so the one leftover he probably pulled out of another 6 pack. First time I am seeing the part number reflect what the box would, on its own individual quart package. Good thought though. Think you hit the mark.
I tried my local dealer and got denied. I will venture out and try another dealer and see if I can get a better deal. Thanks!

Hold up a sec, let's revisit this. Are you saying that the oil is not listed at my link, or it is but it says they won't ship it? If you enter 002790WQTE6S (or 002790WQTE01) in the search bar at the top it brings up the oil and lets you add it to your cart.
Example
It lets me add to the cart and even gives me a shipping estimate to my zip code. Whenever I've bought oil or any other parts from there I always select local pickup at checkout but it never stops me from choosing to have them ship it to me.
Also, their shipping policy does not say anything about not shipping oil and other liquids.

The link you first provided goes to a parts website where you have to choose what you are looking for, as in exterior parts, engine parts, etc. But there is no option for Engine Oil. Most Toyota part sites don't even list engine oil as an option. I searched the part number and it came back with nothing.
This new link brings me to it!!! YES! THANK YOU!! I am not sure what the difference is but the second link was straight to 6 packs, one for Toyota and one for Lexus. Same part number, but the Lexus one is $10 more. haha! Thanks again! This is great. No more in store visits!

Glad it is working for you now. Both links that I posted are the same, the second one is just the results of searching for the oil part number. Some stuff (like oil) won't be found just by looking for it so you will have to know the part number to search for it. They've always had a listing for everything I've ever searched for though as long as it was a valid part number.
As for the Lexus parts, they do sell Toyota and Lexus parts and both will show up in a search if they are the same part. I too find it funny that the Lexus part will be more expensive.

Really appreciate it! Wish I asked before I went into the dealer. This is great. The markup on Lexus stuff is funny, but I bet a bunch of Lexus owners still pay the premium on the same part. haha Thanks again!
